"I really like it here."

If you like a sorority, tell them! You don't have to gush and blush, but telling them that you're really enjoying being at XYZ, you'd like to be invited back, you feel really comfortable at XYZ, etc... helps the sororities. No one is a mind reader. Communicate if you really feel an affinity for a chapter.

yes yes............if the sorority likes you and they know you like them it can help you a lot ladies! not just for formal recruitment invites, but it can also help you with snap bidding and COB party invites if something happens during formal recruitment!

Oh my gosh. Such good advice! The simple stuff so often gets overlooked.......

makes me think of that new commercial where people say "thank you" to get out of akward situations. So simple yet so many people don't think to say it!

If "something happens", let your rush counselor know your thoughts.

One of the PNMs had a family emergency arise, and she had to go home during the preference parties. She cried and told her rush counselor that she would have wanted to go ASA if she could have completed rushing. When we came in one under quota, the rush counselor (not an ASA) let us know, and we were able to snap bid her.

Is this likely to happen? No, so don't get your hopes up, but there's no harm in letting your rush counselor know where you would have liked to have gone. I believe that at most schools, they are allowed to pass along positive information like this if they know of a snap bid or COB opportunity and think it could facilitate a match.

Yes, we pass along info. LOL, at least to each other. When I was a counselor I had a few other counselors approach me to tell me about their girls. Some were joining my house; others were unmatched.

Likewise, don't assume your recruitment counselor can change anything. We have no say whatsoever with what goes on in the houses, and we can not "un cut" you. Think of your recruitment counselor as a guide and friend. She will help you out as much as she can, but she can not change what has happened.

Agreed. Your recruitment counselor is the equivalent of a camp counselor. She'll put band-aids on your boo-boos, braid your hair and let you cry on her shoulder, all while she attempts to make you laugh and smile.

Good bumping! I read the whole thread thinking it was "new" but scratched my head seeing a DZ saying she would keep that in mind for fall? (scratches own head). Aha! She posted that before she became a Delta Zeta!

I would think that saying that would go without mentioning, but I guess during rush, there is so much going on and people can be so nervous, they might forget the little things! Thanks for the reminder!

I'll tell you what I see . . . during recruitment i mean . . .

The "good pnm's" tell every house or every sister something good about their sorority. And I always see them get invited back to every sorority (that is if th. Makes sense cause if you are going for a job interview you would tell every company that you interview with that you want to work there or at least that you like some aspect to their organization. (nervous or not)
