Twins

Do we have any twins on GC?

If so, please tell us your recruitment story. Did you and your sister pledge the same sorority, different sororities or one was in a sorority and one non-Greek?

I posted this in another thread, but I'm a proud sorority-aunt, so I'll post again.

We had a twin go through rush and pledge ASA. Her twin sister COBed the next week. The twin that went through rush just had a little baby legacy last week. They were honestly two of my favorite sisters, and the ones I keep in contact with the most to this day.

ETA: Also, AlwaysSAI and AlwaysAlphaGam are twins...and you can guess how that turned out by their usernames.

Oh dear sister, you might enjoy this thread, even if it was a work of pure fiction.

We had in-house legacy twins go through one year. One girl pledged her legacy chapter, the other pledged a different NPC organization. They were both respectful of their decisions and very happy where they ended up.

Cool

What a coincidence! I just received KD's quarterly magazine & there was an article about alumnae twins (one set had rushed @ UF when I was a collegian). It discussed their attitudes going through rush/recruitment and if they decided to pledge together or not.

It was an interesting story... so I'd enjoy reading others. Just not a whole rush thread..

This reminds me-

We had a set of idenitical twins pledge Phi Sig last semester. They are like really nice girls.....but I think their lives are too intertwined. They are pursuing the same degree, live together, have every class together and joined the same org!

Seriously, there is something wrong with that!

I know I said this on another thread, but when I pledged AOII, there were three sets of indentical twins in our chapter. Two were seniors and dressed exactly alike every single day! They got married a few years ago and one moved to Georgia. They had lived together their entire lives. The other two sets were in my pledge class. Both sets pledged as sophomores so they had been around for a year and knew where they wanted to pledge. I actually lived with one set when I was in med school, but separately. One lived with me for two years and the other for two years. They were amazingly different...though many people never could tell them apart!

In my three recruitments as an active, I've only seen twins join the same chapter once. Every other set joined 2 different chapters.

The most recent set from last year, I distinctly remember that they were very adamant about not being viewed as a "matching set." Rush groups are assigned alphabetically by last name, so they would've been in the same one, but they insisted on being separated. They even went to 2 different high schools. They didn't room together on campus either.

Throughout rush, they would get mad if anyone happened to mention that they had a twin. I think they were just really focused on not being treated like a "package deal" which I can understand because I think people tend to treat identical twins that way sometimes.

They both preffed and joined different chapters and were very happy with that. I had one of them in class at the time, and I congratulated her on her bid, and she responded "OMG thanks, I'm just glad I ddn't end up in the same one as my sister or I would've gone nuts."
