Your chapter should be guided by a New Chapter Advisor and you should ask her for assitance. ASA has many programs on how to hold successfuly Recruitment events in keeping with NPC regulations. Also, contact other ASA chapters on campuses of a size similar to yours for ideas, etc.

Basically your rush will go something like this:

First (and maybe second) day - Rushees visit each chapter on campus for a short party, say 20 minutes. It is here that you introduce yourselves and ASA to the rushees.

First round of invitational parties - you will pick a theme for this day and you are probably required to disclose financial information at this time. You may will also give additional information about your chapter and your activities both on a local and national level.

Second round of invitational parties - most likely you will have a sisterhood skit or video to show the rushees and you will spend more time getting to know the girls.

Optional - 3rd round invitational

Preference Day - the Rushees will only visit a maximum of three houses this day. Your chapter will present a "Preference Ceremony", usually a solemn ritual expressing your love of ASA, sisterhood, etc.

A Rush Counselor, themes, songs, skits, videos and ceremonies should all be available from your national office. Speak to your advisor, province president or just call your HQ. Don't assume that you are "on your own", because you are not. Take full advantage of your resources.

If you have to go around telling everyone you're in charge you're not much of a leader.
