The "Gimme, Gimme" wedding was last weekend, and while the reception wasn't as bad as I had thought, there were some interesting moments.
1) The Maid of Honor gave a speech thanking the bride for being "the only person who knows the inner-workings of her chaotic mind. But, we probably shouldn't mention that here." Um, okay, but you just did. We had a lovely time discussing amongst ourselves what that could mean.
2) One guest brought her newborn (could not have been more than a week or two old) to the reception, and breastfed at the table. She was completely covered up, but that still caused some raised eyebrows.
3) The money tree was located smack-dab in the middle of the reception hall. Our pesos looked pretty hanging on it.
4) We wound up giving them a check and a copy of Emily Post. My husband's Aunt (the Groom's Mom) thought the book was a good idea.
5) Two words - cash bar.

Reason: spelling counts.
