I've always felt that if you leave your sorority days having made 1 best friend than the greek experience was worth it. It's nearly impossible to be close to everyone...especially if you're in a bigger chapter. As long as you've made friends with one person who you know you'll always keep in touch with, then I wouldn't consider you a "loner".
With my chapter's size, it would be impossible to be friends with everyone nonetheless know their names! I was lucky enough to become good friends with a few girls who I know will always be there for me. After all, that's all that matters.
