Unfortunately, we tend to re-elect those who 'bring home the bacon' from Washington (new highways, bridges, band uniforms, farm subsidies, etc.), and they get more bacon if the 'go along' with the leaders.
Out of 450+ representatives, only 30 or 40 will have serious and well-funded oposition, and probably most of those 30 - 40 will win.
We're in a hell of a mess.
