Online Fundraising

I just found an interesting online fundraiser site. It is called RaiseItNow.com… Has anyone ever used it? I was emailed a link by a friend to a fundraiser for a young man who had just graduated from USC Law School, and shortly after graduating, was diagnosed with brain cancer. The funds weren’t going to the young man with brain cancer personally, rather they were going towards paying off some student loans and health costs. Personally, I have had a few friends with various types of cancers and as everyone knows, it is not cheap. I donated $30 to the cause because I felt that it was going to a good place. Now, I periodically browse other fundraisers and donate $10, $20, and $30 when I see a good cause. I personally don’t have any need to start a fundraiser, but if and when I do, I think I might try this. It seems like a great way to raise money and help specific individuals out while doing it.

Though I mostly target health related fundraisers, there is a wide range of causes on this site. I saw an up-and-coming band looking for funds to help with a summer tour. In exchange, you received their latest CD. I thought that was pretty cool. I am always looking for the newest music.

Here is a link to their Fundraiser of the Month--- Which is another great cause. Check it out spread the word. I know a lot of people need help and there are tons of deserving people on this site.
