I'm a live band fan.
DJ's are fine to me, but I HATE when they play stupid songs that require guest participation such as:
*The Hokey Pokey
*The Chicken Dance
You get the idea.
I've known some brides to prohibit the playing of those songs because they're stupid.
I don't know anyone who has iPod-ed their wedding but I'm sure it's less expensive than a band of DJ. You also have a bit more control over what is played and when.
