I think it very much depends on the values of your individual chapter. At the end of the day, whoever gets the votes gets the gig.

That said, if y'all want to be more introspective, I'd advise you to ask exec to form a committee to come up with some guidelines. And when they do that, make sure those guidelines, if leaked to the general public, won't result in embarrassment to the chapter.

And as you ask how they should differ from just a normal sweetheart, maybe they should be different from a normal sweetheart in the same way that Sigma Nu is different from a normal fraternity.
