I was in CAP in high school.
The Professor of Military Science (head of ROTC) in college was impressed that I already knew the Manual of Arms before I got there. He called me out of formation to ask why and complimented me and told me he was going to try to get me in his old outfit -- the 82nd Airborne. I said thanks a lot. I didn't mean it.
Then he told me to get a haircut.
