Well, here at my school this is how we do it:
We have an informal recruitment period in the fall. (We have delayed rush, formal recruitment in the spring.) During informal recruitment, those sororities that are not at ceiling are assigned one evening in the informal recruitment week to have an open house. After that, the sorority can invite you to COB's if they would like to get to know you better. Bids are given out whenever, really. It is NOTHING like formal recruitment. It is totally different. The present weekend is our formal recruitment. Tomorrow is pref and Monday is Bid Day!
