I'm with Sheila that sororities are expensive at UA is kind of like saying water is wet. Look at the houses! Granted, it's not super expensive to live in them, but you can still just tell this is an overall affluent system. I grew up in a low income family- there are things you can and cannot afford. You deal with it. If you're smart enough to go to college, be smart enough to make a budget so you can attend a school where you can enjoy activities and afford to live at the same time. The women at my school had a good (albeit not anywhere near SEC, but good in other ways) sorority experience. Sometimes in life you have to take what's available to you and just make the best of it. We can't all live in gorgeous mansions!
