Wikipedia says that she went to Barnard (Columbia) for one year and then left to go into show business. Since we have never had a chapter at Barnard or Columbia, I'm doubting that she's a sister.
I also did a sister search and no one by the last name "Hurwitz"(her real last name) or "Shari Lewis" is listed.
