I feel a similarity between recruitment stories and horror movies. You can yell "don't go in there" all you want, but the main character can't hear you. With recruitment stories it's all "don't give up! Just keep going!" but typically the stories are not live.
Nervous to hear what the twist is and can't wait to hear the ending.
