His attorney is doing a bangup job. I wish I could get the police to collude with me instead of the State's attorney... life would be so much easier then. I can't really say the attorney is doing anything but a stellar job, but FSU's and TPD's police forces look like a bunch of Keystone Cops here.... well not really that.. more like they're bigger fans of football wins than rape victims.

The school can really suffer some very serious consequences if they're just ignoring Title IX requirements though, up to and including the withholding of federal funds.

I never was a big fan of Title IX though. Even where the state declines to file charges because of a lack of evidence to meet its burden, which I think is likely here, the Title IX tribunal of 3 university professors only has to find that the conduct did happen by a preponderance of the evidence (i.e., that it's more likely true than not) and he-said/she-said cases are going to more often than not result in a conviction. The accused doesn't get to have a jury of his peers and doesn't get to crossexamine the witnesses against him.

And he can appeal it all the way to the Dean of Students (or something like that) and there's no judicial review. It's a serious kangaroo court and a dramatic overreach reaction to the current state of sexual violence on our campuses. The reaction here seems to be akin to Arnaud Almaric's sack of Beziers... "Kill them. For the Lord knows those that are his own." i.e., we don't seem too concerned that there might be a great many accused who are wrongfully convicted.
