I know that some sororities on my campus do pledge class names...they end up being chalked all over campus (very popular way of advertising on campus...if you want it seen, chalk it)
"Sassy Seven"
"Naughty Nine"
"Scandalous Six" << that group actually did it in chalk paint AND spelled it wrong...we all got a kick out of it
Im not sure which groups they were, they just put the names. Ive never heard of a sorority on my campus giving pledges names...but I KNOW the frats do it...I actually dont know some of the guys real names, only their pledge names because they are goofy names that end up sticking with them all through college.
Ex: A kid from a certain city out of state is nicknamed that name. Plays on last names...inside jokes...etc.
