Beta Sigma Phi, and the P.E.O. Sisterhood are two "sororities" for adults.
It is not the same experience at all - not that it's less or more than the college level - it's just an entirely different experience.
I'm a member of an AAUW branch that has that same sort of feeling - more sisters than members. I've seen League of Women Voters groups along the same pattern. Even my old bunco group had that same sisterhood feeling.
We all want to belong to something bigger, stronger. and more enveloping than ourselves alone.
