I went to the LSU Panhellenic recruitment page. There is a lot of information there. Here's the link:

Hope that will answer many if not most of your questions. As for the number of recs, I will let LSU-familiar folks respond. Generally speaking, two (2) is a good number to have for competitive recruitments.
