A few members of Gamma Xi Phi and I are raising money for a Smithsonian sponsored program called
First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis (FAC). FAC is an international, multi-week training conference that educates professionals on how to preserve a country's art and culture in times of armed conflict, natural disaster, or other crisis.
GXP members have decided that this project aligns nicely with our #AfricanHeritageProtection program, as several delegates will be attending from sub-Saharan African nations who are at great risk of losing cultural memory in another crisis.
If we reach our $2,000 goal, we will be able to fund roundtrip airfare for two participants!
Also, since FAC is occurring right here in Washington, DC, you will have an opportunity to mingle with the delegates! (If you are local, of course)
