I am a big fan of consignment/resale and thrift stores. If not for those type of stores, I wouldn't have the wardrobe that I have. Generally speaking, I get my stuff from stores in affluent neighborhoods. The prices aren't rock bottom, but they're much better than retail.
I also tend to buy used books.
