As a professional patient - as someone with Cystic Fibrosis, I have spent the past 40 years in and out of hospitals and doctor appts, I've been through a number of unknown issues in my life. If you ever want suggestions on how to navigate the medical world, let me know. Remember always: 1. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. 2. You have the right to a second and even third opinion. 3. Speak up if you feel you're not being listened to. 4. Keep a journal of all symptoms, what might be triggering them, etc. Drop me a PM if you want to talk. I understand your frustrations. |
Thank you so much for the offer! Unfortunately, as a college student essentially living in one giant petridish, it's probably just some funky virus that has mutated as it's been passed among the thousands of students on campus.
At least, that's what I hope. If it doesn't get any better soon though, it's back to health services! |
I've notarized probably 100+ documents today, and the only thing I want to sign today is my bar tab at the end of the night.

Dear cat,
You are adorable and I love to pet you and have you on my lap but STOP NIPPING! You know the moment you do you go back on the floor, so I don't know why you won't stop!! |
AWESOME Tri-Delta friend took me to lunch at a Peruvian restaurant - so good! I'm only sad that it is Friday and I couldn't have the short ribs my friend had, as they smelled FABULOUS. Same awesome friend helped me grade quizzes - that's what friends are foooooorrrrr . . . I call her my crescent sister (!). She's from the midwest and hasn't seen much of Houston. Sunday - off to Bayou Bend!

Friday night: Napped 4:30-7:30. Worked on lesson plans 8-midnight.
Tomorrow, I'll spend the day working on my next grad school presentation. Sunday: I'll spend the day preparing for my grad school debate. What is a weekend again? I haven't had a real one since starting grad school while teaching full time. |

Thanks ree-Xi! I may have caught on to something. My doctor prescribed me sleeping pills for my insomnia about 10 or so days ago. I've been feeling increasingly worse in the same amount of time and (if you recall my whining) gained 9 pounds in a week. Not only do I feel much better in the 2 days since I've stopped taking them, I've also lost 5 pounds in the same amount of time. My doc is on vacation for 2 weeks (great timing) but I want to see him the second he gets back. The replacement I saw on Wednesday could not explain the chest pains or sore throat so I'll have to see about that but thank God most of this has sorted itself out and isn't anything worse! :)

Working on Saturdays is awful. Thank god I only have to work one Saturday a month.

How in the world that restaurant has stayed open is beyond me.
A friend offered to take us to The Barbecue Inn in Houston, TX. Hey, it's been open since 1946 - it must be good, right? No. |
