Please have stories of wedding craziness, pretty pretty please with violets and sailboats on top.

There shouldn't be any stories from this one, she's getting married at either Bellagio or Wynn (Las Vegas), and has only 2 bridesmaids. Pretty low stress.

If you think I don't visit you now, just wait until you start this new living arrangement. I'd rather get a hotel room if I absolutely had to go down for something rather than stay with you and your idiot friends. I mean really? How many people go to your school? And you couldn't find anyone else to live with? Really? Really?

She is awesome! I love her! I just started it today and I'm already about halfway through. It's super good. Some of the battle scenes are super confusing because everyone has the same name lol. But other than that it's really good. I guess she's doing a whole series of this line now (I can't even spell it but it starts with a P) so I'm super excited! My professor buys every Sue Grafton book as soon as it's published and I think I'm starting to be like that with Philippa Gregory.

ETA: Sorry for using the word super a bunch of different times. I think that's a sign that I need to go to sleep. That and the fact that my light that's on a timer turned off. You know you're up too late then ;)

Probably. There no other explanation for the power to go out in ENTIRE back half of the house (4 separate bedrooms and the garage).

Yesterday at work, folks were telling me that you have to be at the airport 4 hours ahead of time, because they are now searching everything. I'm not sure if this is throughout the nation, but, it is here, from what they were saying at work.

Agreed. I'm going to be late and I don't even care. Once upon a time (a couple years ago), this was a week where hardly anybody was at work and we could wear jeans. Now they've banned jeans totally and took away the floating holidays we all used to use this week, so I expect it will be busier than previous years. But still, I can't get motivated to get ready for work.

I'm with you, AGDee. I don't feel like going in today either. LOL. I love my job, but it's right after the holidays that gets me.

I really don't want to drive the 45min to have lunch with my mom today. I want to stay at home & keep cleaning.

Uuuuuuuuugh.

DaemonSeid 12-29-2009 09:59 AM

^^^ what about people who bring their laptops to bookstores to web surf as opposed to...uuuhhh...read books in the bookstore?

I like the fact that the nonInternet generation people I know still sit down with the newspaper and a cup of coffee or green tea. :) I don't know about anyone else, but I don't get GOOD news from the Internet and reading the online Washington Post and news stations' websites just doesn't suffice.

Similarly, it REALLY bothers me that bookstores are struggling and there's this new damn device that holds thousands(?) of books in it. It was all the rave this Christmas and I thank God that no one bought it for me. When I take the time to read a novel it better not be on an electronic device. I support local and chain bookstores--and sites like Amazon.com. :)

Me too.

The local LGBT bookstore is closing and the owners are claiming "mission accomplished." Uh, no it's not. Many independent and specialty bookstores are also social and political hubs for their customers. I can't go to Borders and get the same books OR feelings I get from an indie store.

Anyway, luckily I don't think books themselves will be going out of style. Fuck the trees, buy the book!
