Perfume is 100% something where, unless your ass knows what you're doing, you're much better off finding something she likes and purchasing a refresher for that every so often. Your ROI on getting 'clever' is about %shit.

The other option is to venture forth to the fragrance counter with her and getting feedback there, which is fine, provided everybody understands that you're liable to murder an entire school bus full of children afterward, because seriously that part of every department store suuuuuucks.

Yes to both. My boyfriend bought me perfume for our first Christmas. He literally had two of his female co-workers (he worked at Nordstrom at the time) ask every single question about my perfumes pretending they loved mine. They then found one similar or complimentary. It is amazing.

This made me laugh that Idaho made it into the top ten as I have two former fellas from the CDA area. The other nine cities aren't places I'd really want to live anyway.

I read the your whole post and I feel you. I'm the same way to a degree, but when you say that you try to take people as they are, that might be part of the problem. Sometimes you can't just take folks as they are. You might meet a mofo who might be foul as hell, and taking dude as he is could end up just like the last foul dude you were with. You feel me? I see what you're saying and agree with the rest of your post, but sometimes you gotta check a mofo's credentials. I don't mean that as to be all detailed n shit, because nobody is perfect, but I'm talking more on the lines of comparing to past relationships. The shit you don't want to deal with.

Iota Man 06-01-2012 11:44 PM

Hey y'all I bought Brandi some Gucci perfume. I paid $69.00 for it and this shit smells good as hell. Thanks agzg and Munchkin03 for the suggestion. That was good shit. I'm not going to give it to her yet, though. I figured out how I'm going to give it to her as a gift. If I do it that way, she won't get all bent out of shape n shit. My girl is head strong as hell, LOL. Not this weekend, but the next, I'm going to surprise her and take her up to Niagara Falls. Right down Dusty's alley LOL.

Back in the 90s, a co-worker of mine bought one that was really popular at the time (can't remember which one, honestly) but something about it on her made it smell like ant poison. No lie. I walked into our very small shared office space and asked if they had sprayed for ants because that's what it smelled like. We were really good friends so I was able to tell her honestly that the fragrance didn't work on her and she never wore it again.

CTFU! This is some funny ass shit.

With a death grip :) I also hold the handrail so hard when I'm going down a flight of stairs that sometimes the friction burns. But heck, I turned my ankle and broke my foot walking in solid loafers on flat, dry pavement in broad daylight. I'm a clutz.

Don't feel badly. I sprained my wrist falling out of a chair. No, I was not spinning in the chair or tilting it back. I was sitting perfectly still and out of nowhere...on the floor. My balance is that bad.

We stayed at the Sheraton. We went during Valentine's Day weekend so Falls View hotels aren't going to have specials during the holidays, at least they didn't when we went. We paid a little over $100.00/night, which wasn't that bad compared with the others, and with the view. Plus, I planned for it way in advance, so that gave me enough time to save for it. They have some hotels behind the Falls View hotels that are cheaper, but they don't give you a view of the Falls. You should stay in one of the Falls View hotels, if it's in your budget. It's worth it, man. If you would like to see if it's where you would like to stay, or what that whole view looks like, I think I still have some pics of it saved on on my SD card from my camera. We went in Feb of last year, so I don't know what the prices will be like now. I don't think there will be much of a difference. There's a lot to do there, depending on what it is you both enjoy.

I think that would depend on what kind of perks it comes with. I just pretty much want a simple hotel. When we're in the hotel, we're not going to be viewing the falls anyway. We're going to be doing one thing, and one thing only in that hotel...straight up fuckn LOL. I just wanted to take her somewhere and kick it for a minute. You feel me? I live in Shaker Heights which isn't that far of a drive. I'm going to call today to get some rates for the cheaper hotels. I don't know if I want to fuck with one of those hotels y'all stayed in, though, unless they have a special or some shit like that.

LOL -okay man. You don't know what you'll be missing, though. But, yes, check for specials, maybe they have something going on right now. If they do, it's a must stay. When we went, the Sheraton had the best rates. The good thing about going during the spring, and summer, and the beginning of the fall season is you can enjoy the Maid of the Mist and the tour behind the Falls. We missed out on that, because we went when it was below zero -still a lot to do, though. Mackinac Island is also a nice place to take her. I'd really plan way ahead of time, though.

What's Mackinac Island? I'm not trying to fly long-distances, I was talking driving. Something that's closer to the crib.

You posted that you live in Shaker Heights, which I'm assuming is in Ohio, unless you're speaking of a "Shaker Heights" in a different state. If you're in Ohio, Mackinac Island is somewhat of a drive, but it's not so far that you need to fly. Mackinac Island is in Northern MI. Minus the horse manure every 15 feet, I enjoyed my stay there. The boat ride across the lake to the island is fun, plus, there are no cars allowed on the island. You and your lady friend either walk, or catch a horse & carriage ride, which is always fun, if you're into that kind of thing. I didn't really care for the hotels there, I prefer more "modern day" hotels. The hotels there are really old, "house like" with porches, etc. -that kind of thing. The hotel we stayed in was like that. Other than that, there are all kinds of fun things to do there, great places to eat, and a lot of history. I'm not sure if that's your thing, but we enjoyed our stay there.

I never recommended that you take her there. I only recommend that you stay in one of the Falls View hotels (provided that it's in your budget). Whatever it is that you have decided to do, just make sure you don't start something with this young lady that you are not going to continue doing (throughout your relationship) with, and for her. Have fun, and don't forget to bring Craig T. Cooper, and Gary Taylor with you. Add some Boney James to your playlist, too.;)

ETA: If you don't stay at the Sheraton or one of the other Falls View hotels, at least take her to breakfast at the Sheraton. I don't know about the other ones but the view there is really nice. I took this shot during breakfast. As I can remember, I think it's on the 11th floor. The food is great, and reasonably priced, too.

AlwaysSAI 06-07-2012 07:59 PM

My weekend is so busy there is no point in Mr. KDR coming over. Saturday I have graduation all afternoon and Sunday I have an SAI event all afternoon.

But, we did get together last night for a local street concert and dinner. Well, it wasn't really local for him...he had to drive 40 minutes. But, it was still a good time.

Tomorrow, I get my NEW MATTRESS!!!! I cannot wait to sleep on it!

CTFU! That's the first thing I'm packing is my music, especially those two. I don't have a playlist though. I just download what I like, and play them as I go. That Boney James cut is nice as hell. I'll have to wait until I get back to see what he has and download more cuts. As soon as I get off work today, I'm picking up my girl, so I won't have time to download dude's cuts.

Damn, that's nice as hell. I'll have to check that out, depending on what my girl wants to do for breakfast. I already made reservations at the Days Inn. The Fallsview hotels were too high.

On the subway today, I was standing next to this young man who was flexing his biceps every so often, when he thought I was looking his way. I was just staring into space instead of reading my book, but every so often I'd see him look at me and pop his bicep. I could barely contain my laughter.

That is soooo corny.

It reminds me of the latest episode of American Colony: Meet the Hutterites on National Geographic. As if the Hutterites are not patriarchal and male-dominated enough, the teenage boys are trying to figure out how to be more mainstream patriarchal, male-dominated, misogynist, etc. They are trying to learn how to be cool and even sexy for the girls. Corny. LOL.

Total Baader-Mienhof effect, but I'd not heard about Mackinac Island until this post and I just saw a commercial for it. Random.

AGDee 06-09-2012 09:52 PM

Mackinac Island is awesome, especially if you enjoy history :) Mackinaw City, on the mainland, is pretty cool too. I don't stay on the actual island. It's a lot cheaper to stay in Mackinaw City and just visit the island. The hotels in Mackinaw City are more traditional and there are a lot of things to do there too.

I really wish the investigator who attended this audit with me was single. He was a really nice guy, funny, interesting; we had a lot in common and, frankly, he was hot. It was fun to hang out with him for the week and I'm really glad he was there because the other co-worker I was with didn't really want to do any sight seeing, until we pushed him to come out with us. then he fell in love with Hilton Head and now wants to vacation there with his wife. He was seriously going to eat frozen dinners in the hotel room every night!

Ah well, all the good ones are married. Such is life. At least he made the work trip fun.

We really enjoyed our stay on the Island. We've gone twice so far, and both times we've stayed a few days on the actual Island. I guess the next time we go, we'll have to try out the mainland. Hopefully, the hotels are better on the mainland. I didn't really care for the hotels on the Island as much.
