OK, I never thought a song by Evanescence would connect to something happening in my life, but "Call Me When You're Sober" is getting there.

grrrr.

So I was supposed to join the girls for a birthday weekend in San Francisco this weekend. (Yay dad's pilot buddy passes)

But my uncle had a minor stroke, so I knew that I shouldn't go and that I should be here for my family. Thankfully uncle's doing well -- and my aunt sent me home.

Ex-Mr. OTW was kind enough to invite me to the resort he works at for the weekend. He had to work all weekend, but it was nice playing tourist and getting pampered at the spa. All on his tab.

I wish this weekend didn't have to end.

I'm sorry about your Uncle and hope he fully recovers. Strokes are as scary as they are devestating.

So the boy who likes me and wants to date me spent an hour last night talking to me about Vera Bradley bags. What are the chances he's straight?

OTW--wow. My dad had a minor stroke a while ago and it ended up messing up part of his left hand. It's amazing what they can do with rehab on strokes--he's back to normal and uses all his fingers like he never had a stroke. I hope your uncle recovers soon!

tuna--what did he have to say about Vera Bradleys? If it's a diaper bag comparison, I'd say straight, but if he's talking about how well this or that coordinates with your bag...gay.

He likes some of the old patterns, is a fan of the Miller, and thinks that Pink Elephants is adorable. I kid you not.

Run now, he's a 'mo. The chances are better that you'll be elected prez in '08 than this guy being straight. Straight guys may know Coach or Louie but no way he knows Vera!!!

That says a lot, especially since I'm not a U.S.-born citizen and can therefore never be president. ;)

You might be able to if Arnold ever gets his way.

Haha - I'd say it's 50/50, he could have a sister or a mom who's into it. My boyfriend was at court in another county last week and one of the other attorneys waiting had a Java Blue Vera bag so he started talking to her about them. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. ;)

Thank you. That makes me feel better.

My husband has random conversations with people about Vera. He'll see them out and about and make conversation. He can tell a real from a fake. I think I've rubbed off on him... he could be straight!

I think it's so funny because my boyfriend HATES Vera - he calls them ugly purses and has offered to buy me any other purse I want if it means reducing the Vera I carry. He likes the microfibers so I get those as gifts quite a bit. :)
