I didn't see these closures on your list:
Pi Kappa Alpha - late spring '12
Delta Chi - spring '12
Both at the University of Montevallo (AL), so the campus should be open for expansion.

I got an answer! They are all pronounced like "fee".

When Alpha Phi colonized at the Univ. of Alabama, I remember saying that very few Southerners are going to know how to pronounce it! When you are used to Phi Mu (fie), Phi Delta Theta (fie), Alpha Phi Alpha (fie) -- it's hard to change the pronunciation you are used to.

Re: Chapter names:

I've always appreciated that Alpha Gamma Delta chapter at UGA is Gamma Alpha.

GA for GA. Seems just right.

Beta Theta Pi at Georgia Tech suspended

The Beta Theta Pi's Gamma Eta chapter at Georgia Tech has been suspended for two years due to alleged hazing. This follows the chapter's interim suspension on April 30, 2012.

Article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The chapter had been active since 1916.

The following pic was posted on the @belmontTheta feed. It was taken in their student union during the week of information sessions. Many thanks to Belmont's Greek Life office for such lovely decorations.

Special shout out to the outstanding panhellenic members at Belmont: Alpha Sigma Tau, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Phi Mu. Here's hoping that interest in Belmont's Greek Life continues to grow and that other groups can share in the love!

Yeah NASHVILLE!!!

I just found out Alpha Xi Delta is presenting at UCLA this evening. If we should get this one, we would be recolonizing our Alpha Xi chapter. Good luck to us!

Good luck to you both! Alpha Gamma Delta was present at UCLA from 1925-1982 and Alpha Xi Delta was present from 1924-1980.

I think it's only fair that since you got USC that we get UCLA. You wouldn't want to be piggy after all, would you? ;)

I don't know who/if there is a third presenting. I didn't even hear about us until it was too late for me to make plans to go lurk in person. I read here about AGD a couple weeks ago and hoped we'd be on that list as well. And I was right!

The poster before you mentioned that Phi Mu will also be presenting.

I imagine it will be a tough decision, as all groups would be a potential recolonization. Chartered at the same time and closed in the same decade.

Does your group still have your house? I'm also curious about Phi Mu. According to Brooke's fabulous website, ours is still there: http://www.alphagammadeltahouses.com...s%20%28UCLA%29

One of my closest and dear sisters is a Delta Epsilon alum and to say that she is on pins and needles about this is an understatement. It just kills her that she won't be able to go to the Presentation!

Is UCLA a fall 2012 colonization or later?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! A girl can only dream--right? I'd LOVE to see Phi Mu back at UCLA!!!

ChioLu 05-25-2012 05:46 PM

It will be a RE-colonizing for any of these 3, as all have been at UCLA (from the 1920s to the 1980s).
Decision will be made by/before the 2nd week of June. (UCLA is on the quarter system and is still in classes.)
