It wasn't that bad, actually.:)

Monday, I treated myself to a movie, and I went to see Unknown. It wasn't that good. The previews made it look like it was definitely a must see, but it really wasn't. It's a "wait for netflix" movie. I'll give 2 stars.

Yep, it was. I'm not usually a big fan of 3D movies, but the 3D was really well done in this one.

The King's Speech was really good. Not as dramatic as I thought, but surprisingly funny. There were two instinces where I was hunched over, laughing so hard I was crying.

cheerfulgreek 02-23-2011 05:03 PM

^^^ I was thinking about seeing that one, because of the time period it was based on.

Over the weekend we went to see "Battlefield Los Angeles" and it was my movie pick this time. Bad pick on my part. I gave it a 1 out of 5 stars. I fell asleep, it was that bad.

Oh, and "Beastly" sucked, too. That didn't even make it to 1 star. Very dumb movie.

The King's Speech is A+++++++ WOULD SEE AGAIN.

I couldn't remember if I posted about it already and the last post tripped a new page for me. I'm too lazy to click back.

We saw The King's Speech last weekend and loved it. It was funnier than I expected. And it was an unusually "normal" role for Helena B. Carter, and I liked her a lot.

Loved, loved, "The King's Speech". Tomorrow - "Mars Needs Moms"; based on the book by Berkeley Breathed (who graduated h.s. with my husband - small world!) my expectations aren't that high. Loved the book - don't see how it could be a full-length movie, plus it's that creepy "Polar Express" -type animation. I'd love to be wrong. We'll see.

Agree w/ everyone on The King's Speech. When you think about Colin Firth being as well spoken as he is and having to believably create someone who has a huge stuttering problem - suffice it to say he deserved the Oscar and then some.

I also just saw Phil Ochs: There But For Fortune. 4 stars out of 5, and a great introduction if you want to know more about the folk music/protest movement.

Red Riding Hood was really, really good. I gave it 5 stars out of 5. I mean, it was totally unpredictable, but at the same time almost exactly like the original story. Great movie.

Oh, and over the weekend, when I went to see Red Riding Hood, I saw a poster with the advertisement for a new movie, Apollo 18. I go to the movie almost every weekend, and I've never seen the preview for this movie, or maybe it was so short, I can't remember. The poster also wasn't up the weekend before, if it was I didn't see it. I'm really excited about seeing this movie. The only thing the poster advertised was "Why we never went back" -then the date when it starts. It looks like it's gonna be really good. I can't wait to see it.

I disagree. I would give it ~ 2.5/5 stars. It wasn't terrible, but I just didn't think it was very good or interesting.

At first I kind of thought they could've left the wolf "talking" out, but then I was thinking that they were probably trying to keep it similar to the story.

Just watched "Winter in Wartime" a Dutch movie (also in American theatres) and I give it 5/5 stars. Based on my favorite book, well written, moving and great acting.

I saw The Adjustment Bureau tonight. I enjoyed it. It's not that deep, just enjoyable.
