Was Barbara Bush Greek?
I know all the other ladies are Thetas, but was the grandma Barbara Greek? Just curious.

She was an alumna initiate of Pi Beta Phi.
|
Her dad and brother were Beta at Miami University (OH)

Thank you! She was such a lovely lady 💙

Her mother, Pauline Robinson Pierce, was a member of our Kappa chapter (Tri Sigma) at Miami University circa 1914-1916.

I was looking up alumnae chapters for my sorority (Gamma Sigma Sigma) and on Wikipedia, it says Barbara Bush was an honorary member of my sorority! Idk how true it is (it is Wikipedia, after all) but I thought it was cool!

It's true. This is from the history section of the Staff:
The Eighteenth National Convention was held June 11-14, 1987, at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware and was hosted by Beta Gamma Chapter, Philadelphia Alumni Chapter, Mid-Jersey Shore Alumni Chapter, and District Ill. The Convention theme was "First in Service." Barbara Bush, wife of United States Vice President, George Bush, and recipient of the 1987 Woman of the Year Award, addressed the Convention about volunteer involvement in literacy programs. National Honorary Membership was also granted to Barbara Bush and Dr. Mae Jemison. |

I had never heard of it until recently. A car in my neighborhood has a ΓΣΣ sticker, so I had to go look it up! |
Yep!
Thanks for the info! That's so cool! |
