A Call to Action: ALL NPHC, NIC, NPC ( am I missing anyone)

We have been in a eye opening discussion in the past couple of days about UNITY. And I think its fair to say we have come to an understanding across the greek world...specifically in the BGLO community.

Since this issue is bigger than hip hop...oops, i digress...( I need a new stereo) I am making a call to action for our entire Greek life community to make a concerted effort to NOT bash or subtley dig on these boards anymore :p And if you do dig, expect a PM to swiftly come to your inbox.

Moving forward, I want everyone here to say at least 1 nice thing about a sister greek or brother greek who is NOT a member of your organization...and they can not be a family member or close relative.

If you do not have "other" Greek friends who are not relatives, post something positive about another organization that you really like.

I will go first. I want to shout out my Sister NPHC members.

SGRho: I love your Eye Glasses for the needy project. I thank God for the blessing of good vision.

DST: You really did a great job taking the Delta Academy to the next level. There is one across the street from my previous resident. Mentoring is a good thing!

AKA: Your Fashionetta project is lovely...cotillions are a wonderful way to boost esteem in our young girls.

I appreciate all of the Greek communities efforts in providing opportunities to serve our community at large. Here's to you!
(((((((((((NPHC, NIC, NPC and all of the others I may have missed unintentionally))))))))))))

*That was a cyber hug for all of you cyber newbies;)

Peaches-n-Cream 03-22-2002 02:11 PM

This is a good idea for a thread! My college roommate joined Alpha Phi so I know a little bit about that esteemed organization. Alpha Phi built the first sorority house in the nation, called the inter-sorority meeting that resulted in the formation of the NPC, and had the first website of any NPC. Great job, ladies! :D

squirrely girl 03-22-2002 02:15 PM

i guess i'll go next. i'm a transfer student at a school that doesn't have my sorority. but i'd like to give kudos to the three lovely chapters on that campus - alpha delta pi, alpha sigma alpha, and chi omega- for making me feel welcome and like i'm still a part of the greek community.

RockChalk 03-22-2002 02:45 PM

When I was a Student Ambassador, I met a lot of wonderful ladies who were in sororities - an SDT, a Theta, and a few AXOs. I'm glad I got the chance to meet them, or else I'd never have thought about joining a sorority.

justamom 03-22-2002 03:11 PM

To my DG's DZ roommate-what a sweetie!
If all the new initiates are as sweet as this girl, they have "done themselves proud!"

TriSigmaTX 03-22-2002 03:46 PM

As a professional in the Greek Life world I meet Greeks of all walks of life, Don't leave out the MGC groups!
I'll start there: I didn't even know of KDChi till a few years ago, what a great up and coming latina sisterhood!

Just had lunch with a friend from DG yesterday, what a great organization.

I'm gonna have to give a shout out to TKE. What a very respectful group of men nationally. They make me feel so special and cared for when I'm near any of them.

In the NPHC world, to my friend Ed, who's an Alpha Phi Alpha...thanks for opening my eyes to your world. Great men!

And to the Farmville Four, I love all of you...we have all come so far.

I'd like to commend Sigma Kappa on its philanthrophy emphasis on gerontology and Alzheimer's disease. My grandfather had Alzheimer's, and my beloved aunt, for whom I was a caregiver, had a related dementia. It gives me hope knowing the international strength of Sigma Kappa is contributing to research funds in this area.

Big ups to Alpha Gamma Delta and Sigma Gamma Rho

I have a couple of "kudos" I'd like to offer:

Kudos to Alpha Gamma Delta : I've been researching your "Junior Circle" and think it's an excellent program that bridges the gap between collegiate and alumnae responsbilities for your members. I've never had the pleasure of personally knowing any AGDs, but if the way you represent on Greek Chat is any indication, you're a great group of ladies.

Kudos to Sigma Gamma Rho: I've long admired the women in your sisterhood, and I'm especially impressed by the Project Mwanamugimu Essay Contest, because anything that furthers the knowledge about the African continent is alright in my book. All of the Sigma women I've had the pleasure to know have been of exemplary character, and were great people.

carnation 03-22-2002 05:45 PM

Mmm, let's see...

I have to salute Zeta Tau Alpha for their great work with breast cancer!

Also Alpha Kappa Alpha for the outstanding work they're doing with young women in this community!

And the Chi Omegas and the Kappa Kappa Gammas for their strength in turning aside recent challenges and succeeding!

And a big hug to
Zeta Phi Beta at Jax State for continuing to send us such outstanding Girl Scout camp counselors! Please send more!

Okay...I wanted to post about that Sigma Gamma Rho program too Soror...how come I could not remember how to spell Mwanamugima? LOL...Great program indeed!

TechAPhi 03-22-2002 10:33 PM

Great idea!

In no particular order, here are my kudos...
  • To Alpha Gamma Delta and Gamma Phi Beta, the other two members of the "Syracuse Triad." What you have accomplished over the years is truly inspiring.
  • To TechADPi, whom I have never met, but who I can say is one of the nicest Greeks at Texas Tech. The Texas Tech Alpha Delta Pi's are great women who exemplify all that is great about being Greek.
  • To the ladies of the Atlanta-area Alpha Omicron Pi Alumane Chapter. I saw a huge group of AOII alumnae having a meeting at a restaurant one day, they talked and laughed and enjoyed sorority sisterhood, proving that Greek membership is not four years, but for life. When I went out to the parking lot nearly every car had an AOII sticker on it--what a great representation of their sorority.
  • To the FIJIs at Texas Tech who did a Valentine's Day service project with us, benefitting pediatic hospital patients. The FIJIs are great guys.
  • To Sigma Nu for its beautiful, poetic, and inspiring creed .
  • To the Phi Delta Thetas at Texas Tech who have been the epitome of grace under pressure. They've had their house broken into, vandalized, and flooded (!), and have faced some other difficult challenges. They've handled it with class and dignity.
  • To Delta Tau Delta at Texas Tech for working so hard to bring Delta Tau Delta back to TTU. To date these amazing guys have raised over $Ê$1,200,000 to build a new house. They have an awesome chapter website and are roaring back at Texas Tech. I am so impressed with the way they have been able to galvanize their chapter and their alums.
  • To all the GC'ers who were kind enough to offer support when my cat died:

    -- amycat412
    -- NinjaPoodle
    -- mmcat
    -- greeklawgirl
    -- SoCalGirl
    -- SATX*APhi
    -- lauradav

I know, I know, the last two are Alpha Phis, but I have to thank them too.
  • To all the wonderful Greeks and non-Greeks on GC (very few exceptions!). You've all enriched my understanding of your respective groups and taught me the meaning of unity among brothers and sisters.
  • To Finer Woman10-A-91 for suggesting this topic. You're so right, we should be building each other up, not tearing each other down.

UMgirl 03-23-2002 12:12 AM

Sisterly love to Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta (SyracuseTriad) Much luv for all the accomplishments and initatives that they have in their successful organizations.

Alpha Delta Pi- For being the creators of a wonderful idea that gives us so many great women's greek organizations today.

Alpha Kappa Alpha- For everything they stand for and for helping me out in college.

Delta Sigma Theta's on this board- Thank you for showing what DST sisterhood is really like.

Sigma Chi's, FIGI's, LXA's, & TKE's- Just because I love ya.

To my AXO, Tri-Delt, Theta, SDT, A-Xi-D and Kappa girls at my old school job- Love ya much and we all proved that greeks can get along outside their houses.

DeltaGamma- For being so concerned about one of my sisters who had a serious incident occurred to her during their Anchor Splash, last year and helping out as mcuh as they could. (To all the greeks at UM at the event who made her feel calmer, by giving her a standing O as we left for the hospital)

Locals- For not taking anyones crap about how they aren't a National and doin' their thing.

Finally to Chi Omega- For all the BS their org. has taken from certain idiots and keeping their heads up and still going strong.

Recognition & Thank Yous

where do i begin...ok, I'll do my general sout outs first:

A HUGE Thank You to the members of ALL the NPC organizations for all the discussions & explainations about Rush and Alumna Status after college. As a Black woman who joined an NPHC Sorority at an HBCU I was CLUELESS. Thanks for expanding my view of the Greek world.

As ALWAYS, much love and respect to my NPHC Family. Remember we are just that. We don't have to LIKE each other all the time, but we MUST and we WILL LOVE each other.

Now on to the folks who have @ some point or another brightened my day or made me think. They are (in no particular order):

Much Triad Love to Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta; our "big sisters."

Recognition to Chi Omega and Zeta Tau Alpha...these sororities are not represented on my campus, however they have made strong names for themselves nationally and, of course, here on GC.

Also, to Lambda Chi Alpha on my campus and here on GC.

:)

AGDLynn 03-23-2002 09:48 AM

To Gamma Phi Beta..I had never heard of your organization until I met some of your wonderful sisters here who are intstrumental in starting an alumnae panhellenic chapter! I know that the next President (Chi O) will be just as dynamic!

To Pi Beta Phi...(hope I got that right, lol) and Delta Zelta. Carnation and DX93 are the first that I have ever met and I thank them for their support of Greeklife in their towns!

To Delta Gamma, Sigma Nu and Pike, cause my sister-in-law and brothers are (even though they aren't active these days).

DeltAlum 03-23-2002 01:59 PM

To each and every one of my alumni brothers and sisters of every Greek Letter Organization in the world who gives his or her time to perpetuate our system and organizations.

I have never met one who isn't a fine person or one who doesn't represent his or her fraternity or sorority exceptionally and set a fine example for our undergraduate members.

The undergrads are the main reason for the Greek System's existance, but you alumni are the ones who carry the torch, keep safe and teach the history and traditions and make it all possible.

Thank you all.

Hootie 03-23-2002 06:45 PM

To the Alpha Omicron Pi's ~ I used to dream about being in your sorority and still think you ladies are awesome!

To the Tri Delta's ~ Carrie :) You guys are awesome!!!!!

To the Sigma K's , ZTA's , and Alpha Xi's ~ You ladies were represented excellently on my campus and made for some great competitions and fun times! You should be proud of these chapters.

To the AGD's ~ Nina ~ for helping through trying moments and making me laugh :)

To BUCutie ~ even though you're not greek you make a greak friend and sister :)

To the Sig Ep's ~ You guys are awesome!!!!

Tom Earp 03-23-2002 10:41 PM

DeltaAlum, that is one of the finest things I have seen you post of the many!

You are so right on the subject! When the Alums especially the local ones in the area do not keep reins on the actives, they then get in all kinds of trouble!

You in the Active Chapters may try to Flame Me for this but I and many of the other Alums on site speak from haveing been there or there would not be so many upsetting things happening and the cost of risk management would not be on the verge of maybe putting some Greek Organizations out of Business.

I and many others have beeen through this and is sad at some of the things seen!

We all have love for our Orgs. and Love for the Greek World as a whole, so why not act like it? Why act like Macho Jerks and Screw up something that has been going on for so many years! That so many Brothers/Sisters have been a part of yo these many years!

Sorry, I am not in the best frame as found out something very disturbing medically and life threatening, so I am really a little down!

But hell I am invinciable!

Live Long And Prosper!:)

TriSigmaTX 03-23-2002 11:17 PM

Ugh, Tom...hope you're ok. By the way, One more Shout Out for the TKE's. I've met some great new one's lately, like Erik Conard. Love you all!

LexiKD 03-26-2002 11:28 PM

I wouldn't know where to start. Back in the day...

The NPHC groups on my campus always seemed to have everything in order. Thier sisterhood/brotherhood was usually not mentioned in the daily rumor mill. I really liked that about all the groups and AKA always had the most spirited women I have met...I like their call as well.

IFC: Well, I have to use SAE as an example. Those men are the most put together group I have seen. Unlike the typical ideas of what a frat boy should be, they are the opposite. Usually good spirited, well dressed, and well mannered. You don't really hear them voting no to hang out with a certian bunch or putting down a group.

NPC: Chi Omega seemed to always do it right. Locally and what I have seen nationally. That is a great org and I understand why it is the largest NPC group out there. I also give points for dealing with the hazing issues very well.

I LOVE Delta Zeta also ....one of my favorite peolpe in the whole world is a DZ and is they can turn out her, then they are pretty awesome too!

All and all we're all good, that doesn't mean that I think the Greek System is without fault, but I see why it's so popular.

SigkapAlumWSU 03-27-2002 04:11 AM

To Alpha Delta Pi- My best friend and "soul sister" is a proud member of this 150 year old organization that started it all. These women have always welcomed me in their chapter, even though I was a member of another GLO. I wish there were more wonderful women who see no difference in the word sister.

to Alpha Gamma Delta- another friend who transfered from a another school found acceptance here when her own national chapter at this campus wasn't the same group of women she had joined. Even though she is an Alpha Phi through and through, the AGD's make her feel like one of their own!

To Phi Kappa Sigma - on my campus, you men are nothing but wonderful, caring individuals. You have gone though (very) hard rushes, and even a fire, and are still making the most of what you have. You will come out fighting and on top, stronger than ever!

to Beta Theta Pi - also wonderful men who just re-colonized this last year. You showed everyone you are such a nationally stong organization, and you have nothing but the best to show for it. Congratulations, and many more years to come for you!

To all the active, inactive, former, future and alum members of every GLO and local, thank you for your time, effort, creativity and above all, love. Without any of you, none of us would be here today.

XO_Princess 03-27-2002 11:37 AM

Kudos to:

ZTA's: I absolutely love love love your philanthropy!! I think it's a cause every woman should support, and you guys rock for being so involved!! :D

DG's: I loved DG when I rushed, and had a hard time choosing. Every DG I've met since then from other campuses has been sweet, smart, kind. They represent their GLO so well.

Sigma Nu's: you guys are awesome! True gentlemen, and tons of fun!! :D

Alpha Xi's: I didn't know about your GLO until I started dating my Hunny-his mom is an Alpha Xi. 40 years after graduating from college she's still actively involved in alumni stuff and spends so much time giving back to her sisterhood. You can really see how much her sisters mean to her.

Finally, love also to the Kappas, the ADPi's, and the SAE's!!

gamma_girl52 03-27-2002 02:53 PM

Shout Out...

This is really a nice thread!

These are mine...

To my Brothers in Blue and Gold ...Alpha Phi Omega, you know I'm partial! :D I've grown to admire all the great service that you do across the nation. Much love to you guys...and my GC brother pirate00, much 2 5 love!

To ALL the NPC women on GC-I've learned so much about you since I've gotten past the "silent monitor" stage and have a great respect for you all! Keep up the good work!

To the NPHC on GC, much respect and love. Keep doing your thing for the benefit of ALL mankind. Your founders would be proud!

To every greek on GC for making a Service Greek like me really feel like a part of Greek Life! I love GC!!

I just wanted to highlight this section...the purpose of this thread is NOT to shout your own organization out in your post. I know its tempting...even hard for some. Don't worry we all know our own organization is the best. :p :) ;) Resist the temptation!

I am waiting to hear from the NPHCers...where are you all...get off of your board and come to the another playground for a moment!

TechAPhi and 12dn94dst...thanks for the shouts!

prettypoodle6 03-27-2002 04:54 PM

i want to give a shout out to my royal "couZins" of ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INC! I have NEVER met a zeta lady that i didnt like.... you ladies are a real class act, keep doing what you're doing.

Chigirlie 03-29-2002 02:46 AM

LOVE TO YOU ALL

Unfortunately I do not know as many organizations as I would like to.. but I really enjoyed getting to meet them at MGCA!! As for the girls and guys on my campus...

ADpi's.. for being true, and keeping strong during hard times...

Tri-Delts... I love you girls! Thanks for putting up with our loudness (we live on the same floor).. and I had fun in Cali with you!

Kappa Deltas.. you girls are so genuine.. thanks for making me smile!

KKG's... Of course.. you all have to be my "sudo sorority".. all my best friends are in it.. and i LOVE YOU for excepting an outsider.. and being true friends.

Gamma's... MAN. I'm jealous of your musicianship! ;)

Ok.. there's more.. but I can't go on all night. GO GREEK!

wishinhopin 03-29-2002 03:29 AM

I love this thread! First of all, I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the Gamma Phi Beta's at UCSC...your support and insight (especially from Mariko) have been essential to my Greek experience. Really, I want to thank all of the greek orgs on my campus, but I should also mention Delta Omega Chi, the local frat here. Since they heard of NBO, they've made a great effort to invite us to do stuff with them, and they've taken the initiative in fostering great inter-greek relations. Anyone who has posted on my thread in the rush section gets a huge shout out from me, for being so sweet and supportive and honestly proving that the whole "whatever the letter, greeks do it better/are in it together" concept is true. And finally, a great big hug to the Delta Gamma's at SDSU...one of my best friends in the whole world is there and all of her sisters that I've met have been nice and funny and just all around great!
love, Corina

lionlove 03-29-2002 05:56 AM

To the Phi Sig, the DZ and the DG that I'm studying abroad with. We may be rivals on our own campus but thousands of miles off campus you have shown that we can put aside our differences.

equeen 03-29-2002 07:37 AM

Great thread, Finer Woman10-A-91!

This may get long....:)

Individuals...
Greeks at OU: First, the mentors and advisors...to Sydney Jones, MEP advisor and member of Sigma Gamma Rho - thanks for taking me on as one of your own. :) Same to Beth Stathos, the very best that of Sooner Chi Omegas. And of course, Melissa Rieger of Delta Zeta...thank you, thank you for proving to us all that intelligent people are the most beautiful, as well. :)

And now, my peers: To Casey Keister (Alpha Chi Omega), Andrea Watson (Delta Gamma), Michelle Salim (Alpha Kappa Alpha)...you broke down the barriers in my mind and showed me the possibilities. Thanks for being there, and being you. To Lewis Holley, a fellow Sooner Chemical Engineering graduate, colleague, and member of Kappa Alpha Psi - you encouraged me and took a chance on me - thank you! :) Steve Lindo (Phi Delta Theta) and Jimmy Smith (Alpha Phi Alpha), you made my day just by smiling. Thank you. Vincent Tello (Alpha Phi Alpha)...you are cheeky, but sooo intelligent! I no no one more hard working. Thanks for being such a good team member, and keeping S. in line. ;) Good luck! :)

GLOs at OU: The gentlemen of Triangle Fraternity - thank you for your inspiration, friendship, support, and kindness. You believed in us when no one else did, and I will never forget that. :) And to the Delta Gammas...your members opened my eyes to the possibilities of greek life. You're wonderful women!

To all of the groups who take the time to get to know my beloved sorority, and are supportive in word and deed - thank you, thank you. There are too many of you to name. :)

To all of the groups who were, and are less than supportive- thank you as well. Sometimes, the best lessons are the hardest ones - and beleive you me, we have learned what I do not want my sorority to be through your example. :p

And now, going national...
To the sororities who came before my own, and paved the way...the NPC sororities, who carved ai niche for college women in a time when we were few in number and unwanted by our male peers on college campuses. To the NPHC sororities, who carved a niche for all women, in a time when women of color were even fewer, and even less accepted, anywhere. To all multi-cultural sororities established more recently - Latina, Asian, and most particularly Indian - tradition and culture are a wonderful thing - I'm glad you both established and preserve it.

To the (now defunct) sororities established in the middle of the last century, specifically by and for women persuing scientific careers. You were my personal inspiration! To the similar sororities established in the later part of the 1900s - Sigma Alpha, Alpha Omega Epsilon, and Phi Sigma Rho...you too, are my inspiration. :)

*whew* ok, those on GC will have to forgive me for not calling out everyone's names....but you know who you are, the ones who represent greek life at its best, the ones who educate me and others with their respectful, thought provoking discourse. A heartfelt thank you.

Dianne 03-29-2002 10:42 AM

First, to my other Farmville Four "sisters" - Kappa Delta, Tri-Sigma, and Alpha Sigma Alpha. We've come a long way in 100 years. Of the 3, only KD is on my campus, and though they are out main "rivals," they are a great group of girls who are super involved in all aspects of student life...so maybe the powder puff games get a little rough...:p

To ADPi, I wanted to be one all through high school. So that didn't happen, but I know nationally and at my school y'all are a strong organization...and thanks for starting this whole thing!

To DZ, because my mom was a DZ, and I like y'all's creed.

I am a big fan of the NPHC orgs on my campus. The Zeta Phi Betas are our unofficial "sister sorority" (I think it's the Zeta thing). What great girls, and so much fun! To the Delta Sigma Thetas, who we had a mixer with. Thanks for showing us white kids how to party walk! ;) To Phi Beta Sigma, who are such fun guys and great dancers! And to Alpha Phi Alpha - what gentlemen. Always polite, sharply dressed, and some of the most involved guys on campus.

As far as IFC fraternities, my heart is always with Pi Kappa Phi (even though me and my Pi Kapp guy broke up). I know the alpha chapter well, and appreciate the history y'all have. I have met Pi Kapps from across the country and have always been impressed by how genuine you guys are. I also really like Sigma Nu, who at campus have proven to be the most involved IFC group, gentlemen, and just plain fun!Kappa Delta

equeen, that was so beautiful! You and Delt Alum have said it all!

Your post is worthy of print in your campus paper...heck ANY paper for that matter. Just so heartwarming!

Had to add-Finer Woman-your thread sure brings out the best in us all! I was always told, that is the sign of a person with true class!

Finer Woman10-A-91 03-29-2002 01:35 PM

Let's see...first to some NPHCers!

I want to compliment the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho for being such amazing advocates of your sisterhood. I have learned to have great admiration and respect for your organization, and I appreciate the commonalties and challenges faced by both organizations. Keep letting your “Sigma” light shine.

Iota Phi Theta. I knew about Iota long before you became a member of the NPHC, and I can say that I've been most impressed about your action plans, your goals and objectives. You all are a brotherhood really on the move!

Some of my NICers

Delta Kappa Epsilon. I knew nothing about this fraternity until I started dating my guy (who is a member) and I can say that I've been impressed by the level of brotherhood that lasts far after college (contrary to what I'd always been told about NIC groups) and with the level of success I've seen from some of your fraternity brothers. You guys are lots of fun too!

Tau Kappa Epsilon . I have to give a shout to these guys because they were the main NIC fraternity on campus who "really" wanted to mix with my Sorority! :) They were such party guys, and since they were the jocks...right up my alley! :D

Some of my NPCers

I really have learned a lot and have a new found respect for NPC as an organization and all of the members sororities specifically.

I have really enjoyed readings posts particularly from my fellow GChaters from Alpha Gamma Delta, (especially Greeklawgirl, a fellow alumna); Chi Omega ; Delta Phi Epsilon (you all are a smaller group like we are, and I just really relate to some of your same challenges and the many benefits) and Zeta Tau Alpha, who've just had some of the nicest things to say on this board about members in my own Sorority!

Special thank you to my favorite girl, FinerWoman, who posted this topic right on time!

splendidg 03-29-2002 06:19 PM

Thanks for this uplifting post FinerWoman....

Iota Phi Theta---You were the friendliest on campus. You always had the time to say hello to people and to chat and discuss all sorts of issues.

Delta Tau Delta--For not being weary of doing projects or socials with a sorority that was not part of NPC.

Sigma Sigma Sigma--They were a small group on our campus but they were close and did not let their size deter them from anything. They had a lot of heart.

Omega Delta Phi---Like older, wiser brothers, they are always there to help us with whatever we need.

Kappa Delta Chi---For having the grace not to succomb to outside pressures and for holding yourself to high values. {On our campus, people tried to get us (the Gammas) and the KDChis into some sort of squabble.}

Eirene_DGP 03-29-2002 06:25 PM

This might be more specific to what I see on my campus, but here goes.

Mad props to Phi Beta Sigma for their work/fundraisers for Prostate Cancer Awareness amongst African-American Males.

I really appreciate the seminars that ZetaPhi Beta has done on Date Rape Awareness because several women on my campus have been raped within the last 2 years.

Thanks to SigmaGammaRho for supporting us as a new sorority on campus. I also enjoyed doing community service with the Rhos.

Thanks to Pi Kappa Alpha for unifying the campus and helping to crush a lot of stereotypes.

Omega Psi Phi has shown me the true meaning of hard work and dedication. Keep up the good work!!

To the Pi Phis: from 'the almost-pi phi', you guys are a great bunch of ladies and you know I would have been proud to call you my sisters...thank you for understanding my need to go SK, it's who I am and you accepted it even though you didn't really want to :)

To the AOIIs: ...what can I say? Y'all are nice girls, and that's that. Lauren will always be sorely missed, and we all know you were lucky to have her as a sister, however short the time period.

To the Delta Tau Deltas: The cutest, nicest, most decent guys on campus. You're my favorite fraternity! (the fact that my dad was a Delt may have something to do with it too :D )

To the APhiOs: You do good things and you do them well. Keep it up, and keep those course schedules coming!

And to all the GCers: You will never know how much you mean to me. This community defies description; with the greek system at my school as cutthroat as it is, it's so amazing to me to see all greeks from all over becoming one big family. Thank you all so much for just being your wonderful selves!

I absolutely must acknowledge one of the best Moderators on GC...and certainly one of my favorite gals (((((((((Shelacious)))))))))
Thank you for the love!

To the Chi Omegas: Y'all truly have some wonderful sisters. I really enjoyed working with one of your alumnae members on a major philanthropy event last year. She represented y'all beautifully, as has every other XO that I've met. :D

To the Delta Sigma Thetas and the Alpha Phi Alphas: Thanks for the wonderful Greek Week memories of my college years. If it weren't for y'all so graciously helping my chapter with our annual Step Shows, I would still have absolutely no rhythm! :D

To the Alpha Delta Pis: If all of you are as sweet as my brother's ADPi girlfriend, then I can understand why your sisterhood is so strong. :) You and Phi Mu hold a special place in my heart because you were both founded in my hometown of Macon. Wesleyan is just down the road from where I grew up.

To the Alpha Gamma Deltas (the first sorority I ever heard of): My cousin speaks highly of your organization, and always has -- I was brainwashed from an early age! LOL If there had been an AGD chapter on my campus, I'd probably be collecting squirrels instead of turtles right now. :D

To the Alpha Kappa Alphas: What can I say? Y'all have great taste in colors! ;) Thanks for being the "sister sorority" to my girls at UGA. They are proud to work with you!

To the Zeta Tau Alphas: I've never met a ZTA who was anything less than a lady at all times. Your reputation is a fine one, and one of my best friends is a very proud alumna. I've learned much about your organization through her. :)

To the Kappa Alphas: Y'all are truly Southern gentlemen through and through. I'm so glad that my brother joined your fabulous organization. I nearly fell over in shock this Easter when I realized that he was actually waiting for me to be seated before he sat himself at our dinner table. He definitely got that etiquette lesson from y'all's manual! :D

First of all - the 2 people that I can count on to show me a new perspective while being respectful of others opinions (most of the time...J/K!)...

12dn94dst and AKA2D

I think I have learned more about DST and AKA from these two wonderful women, than from any other source. They exhibit not only pride in their orgs, but the work that is required to keep a great thing going. (Not to mention some down and out HILARIOUS posts on the mods forum :) )

The person I miss the MOST and wish I would get an email from...

ZetaAce

I loved our convo's before because you are the most down to earth person, and always ready to offer advice when needed.

For keeping me in stitches...

KA Billy Mac

I already had a HUGE respect for the fine Southern gentlemen of Kappa Alpha Order -- you just continue that tradition 110%.

For being a wonderful dear friend that I feel like I've known forever, but am still waiting to meet...

Carnation

Thanks for sharing not only your great expertise in the Greek world, but also your family with me. I am so excited about having 2 more potential greeks in the family! And glad that one already has a greek org to call home. I am still hoping for your legacy one day :)

Honorable mention - DeltAlum, Lifesaver, and Just A Mom -- I always love your posts and emails. You guys are fantabulous and I couldn't imagine GC without you.

Oh...and for making me read a post 29 times before I can even try to venture a guess as to what the hell he's saying...

Tom

Was there even any drama there? LOL - Tom - you and I have been down the road and back. I have gained a new respect for Lambda Chi because of you - thanks for exhibiting a lifetime of fraternal commitment and for keeping your organization up front.

I also love the advice that I get from my sisters, but since we're not supposed to be naming names on here, I'll save it for our forum!
