Greek Life at Colby College

I have several family members who have attended/do attend Colby College. When my cousin decided she was attending Colby, I read up on Colby and read that the campus got rid of Greek life in the 80s. I've heard from my cousin that there is still an underground Greek presence at Colby. Around thirty years is a long time for these organizations to have lasted underground! Does anyone have any information on how this situation evolved? I realize that being part of an underground fraternity/sorority could have very severe implications, and to the best of my knowledge my cousin is not involved in underground Greek life at Colby, but how could a situation like this even evolve?

Thank you!

The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.

I thought since I was just asking how underground groups could survive this long, and not about what they're doing currently, it would be a fair question. But I'll take the hint and not perpetrate any more discussion about them.
