The Biggest Loser
Did anybody else watch this show last night? Its a train wreck...you dont wanna watch but you cant stop staring.
Personally I think the show glorifies eating and exercise disorders but thats just me. |
I saw maybe the last twenty minutes.....I don't think Caroline Rhea is the greatest choice to host such a show. She doesn't look really comfortable doing it.
I think it glorifies fad diets.....it's not natural to lose this kind of weight so quickly, in a competition. |

I caught the part when they were weighing themselves on the big scale. What I wanna know is, how did they lose weight so fast in one week? That can't be healthy!
Also, I didn't like the "Survivor" aspect of the show where they had to vote someone off. Not everyone can lose weight that fast. |

And I disagree about it not being degrading. I mean, they had refrigerators with their names on it and when somebody gets kicked off the refrigerator light goes off. This Survivor stuff is going too far. I thought Caroline Rhea was ok hosting it - I would rather have her host it than some skinny biatch. LOL |
They also have to realize the less you have to lose, the harder it is to drop the weight. The one they voted off this week lost fivew pounds but she only needed to lose thirty so it's gonna be tougher for her. I think it's degrading because your vote is on a silver serving platter.

Caroline Rea should be a contestant.
The guys should not be allowd to take their shirts off at the weigh ins. |
I think the exercise habits are pretty good, as long as it's not done to excess. But some of the stuff is a bit too sensational for me. I was pretty glad to see the Blue Girls make it to the top of that 73 story highrise. Good for them!

I didn't see the show, but I'm looking at the website now. I agree with whomever said that it's promoting eating/exercise disorders (with the number of calories that some of these contestants appear to be consuming -- if they weren't obese, their doctors would consider them eating disordered) and fad diets. I'm all for helping reduce the percentage of obese Americans, but stuff like this is NOT going to help the average American.
It's going to be interesting if they actually show the part where these people start to plateau after taking in so little food that their bodies kick into starvation mode. And I don't even want to think about the fact that when you lose the weight as fast as many of these people are, you have a major problem with saggy skin that usually requires plastic surgery to correct. ugh. |
Did anyone watch the show tonight? The guy that got kicked off tonight has lost a lot more weight since he went home.
|
I have watched this show since the last season. I didn't really like him, but I thought he looked great afterwads. I wonder if he will be in People this week...Suzanne and Pete had small articles about them and their weight loss.

Curiously, I tought this thread was about either John Kerry or Bill Clinton.
The show is inspirational, I suspect. These contestants have really toned up from all the workouts. I'm surprised they haven't all blown out their knees. |
The guy who left last night looked GREAT! Especially when they showed him in his bulletproof vest. That was his "goal" item in the beginning. He watned it to fit properly!
I think that they do a good job not only teaching them proper food calories and eating habits, but also workouts. I am surprised there aren't more injuries. I know my knees hurt just watching them! |
Dr. Jeff got voted off tonight. :(
|
I love Suzy. She is so damn cute. I'm glad she didn't get voted off!
|
Me too!!
|
Did you see the preview for the finale? You can tell Suzy has lost a lot more weight! :)
|
Heck, you can tell Michael has as well! I'm dead sure every last one of them really did. Fact is, Seth had the most to continue losing though, and I'm guessing that's going to really help him in the long run...

Everyone looked awesome tonight!
|
Could you believe how amazing Ryan and Shannon looked! The guys all looked great too!
|
I was disappointed Suzy or Seth didn't win, but it was a good finale.
Everyone looked amazing, except for Katherine. I know she was the second one kicked off, but I can't believe she didn't learn anything from her time there. Every Ruben, who was kicked off first, lost a huge amount of weight! And, I can't believe poor Mark lost to Pete by just ONE STINKING POUND! |
i saw this last night. everyone looks all good and slim, but the only one i thought was a hottie was jillian the trainer. i might just have to gain 250 pounds so that i can go on the show just to meet her.

And one dude didnt even show up! |

I was really happy that Matt won. I wanted him to win! And for the 100,000 I wanted either Pete or Dr. Jeff. Everyone worked really hard but you could just see it in their eyes that they really really tried everything. I think either one of them deserved it.

i think carolyn rhea has lost some weight since the first season. i remember her being bigger. |
ok, watched the finale...i can't help but think that some of these people were doing anythign necessary to lose the weight...i feel like some MUST've developed eating disorders. I mean, Suzy was almost TOO skinny!

'Biggest Losers' Find Love
It's official: Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston, who together lost a combined 252 pounds as contestants on NBC's "The Biggest Loser," tell PEOPLE they're a couple. "I think it's going to be great," says Hoover, 29, a former wrestling coach. "She is awesome." The way they met was anything but normal. Suzy was a bespectacled 227-lbs. and Matt was a burly 339. "I saw him at his worst, absolutely," says Preston, 29. "And he saw me at my worst. He saw me sweating and passing gas." Hoover thinks their shared experiences as finalists on "Loser" (he won the $250,000 grand prize, and now weighs 182 pounds; she took home $25,000 as second runner-up, and weighs 132 pounds) gives their romance a unique foundation. "We have a lot in common. Going through something like we went through is life-changing. We are not the same people we were before all this and we are both at a point in our lives where we know what it's like to be fat and miserable -- and what it's like to be happy and healthy." Hoover, who lives in Iowa, said he is contemplating a move to be closer to Preston, a hairstylist, in Seattle. http://channels.netscape.com/celebri...oserlove_12-14 |
