As promised, here is my epic Sweet Valley recruitment thread. Sorry it has been so long coming... but I try to only do one thread at a time. My Bama rec girl is having a blast in her new home, so a happy ending means another happy thread!

If you're asking what Sweet Valley is or have somehow never read the books, you probably will hate this thread at least a little bit. Yay Sweet Valley!

Oh, and I didn't use Jessica and Elizabeth as houses because I already used them in my UGA thread.
Fun Fact: Jessica is a Theta in the SVU series.

I haven't read any of the books, so I'll just root for Gamma Phi, whichever character that turns out to be. Fingers crossed!

Round One
 

"Regina" arrived on campus very excited to participate in recruitment! An out-of-stater, she was not super familiar many chapters on campus.

After round one, Regina had a few groups of houses:

FAVORITES (Notice that these four are all known as being some of the most gorgeous people in Sweet Valley. Yay, references.)
Aaron Dallas - These girls were so fun! Regina loves it here.
Lila Fowler - These girls were so sweet! Regina got along well with everyone she met.
Bruce Patman - These girls were really laid back and made Regina feel at home.
Ken Matthews - These girls were fun and welcoming! Regina loves this house.

The whirlwind of round one meant that Regina didn't get to know every single house super well, but she enjoyed her time at every house and truly would be happy to return to any of them!

Yeah, the house is called "Theta Alpha Theta" in SVU the first time it's mentioned, but from then on they are just called Theta. Supposedly they are based on Kappa Alpha Theta?

Lila sweet and friendly? Bruce laid back & welcoming? :eek:

Last year they released a book called Sweet Valley Confidential that checks in on our Sweet Valley High pals 10 Years after college.

This summer Pascal put out 6 e-serials that take place 2 years after Sweet Valley Confidential. They are awesome. And by awesome I mean in no way of literary merit, but fun.

Round Two
 

For round two, Regina was thrilled to receive nine invites!

Round Two
 

During round two, Regina again found herself creating ranking groups:

Regina loves all of these houses for very similar reasons! After round one, she can see that they are all sweet, fun, and beautiful... they all make her feel very welcome! If she continues visiting all three, it's going to make for a tough choice, but for now she's just hoping to get to return to all three for round three.

Regina likes all of these houses a lot! They are all sweet, welcoming, and fun! While she doesn't necessarily feel the same spark with them that she feels with Aaron, Lila, and Bruce, she hopes to return to all of them.

For round three, PNMs can visit up to eight houses, so Regina needed to put one of these in her top 8 and list the other as her #9. She doesn't really see herself ending up with either, but she also wouldn't mind returning to either... so she decided to put Enid as her #8 and Caroline as her #9.

Round Three Invites
 

Lucky Regina got seven invites for round three, and they were her top 7! A full schedule would have been eight, but Regina was happy with seven because they were the seven she had been connecting most with up to this point.

Round Three
 

Sorry for the holdup, y'all.

For round three, Regina hoped to get some clarity on her top houses, but all she got was more confusion! Not only did she feel like a frontrunner of the top group still hadn't emerged, but she started to feel more at home at the other chapters she visited, making her feel more and more conflicted about having to rank them at the end of the round.

Sidenote: I don't think PNMs like Regina can appreciate what a wonderful problem it is to have a large group of amazing houses, all of which they feel would be great homes.

Anyway, after round three, she ranked them:

1-3: Aaron Dallas, Lila Fowler, and Bruce Patman
4. Ken Matthews
5. Maria Slater
6. Cara Walker
7. Ned Wakefield

While she hoped she would pref the houses she listed as her top three (simply because she had really connected with them from day one), she knew she'd really be happy to pref any of these houses. :)

Prefs
 

Regina was so happy to receive invites to Aaron, Lila, and Bruce for prefs... but that meant she was in for a really tough choice!

Regina visited Lila first. The girls there are smart, sweet, and beautiful. They make her feel totally at home. She knows she could be totally happy here and would be very proud to call herself a Lila Fowler.

Aaron Dallas
Then Regina visited Aaron. She felt everything there that she felt at Lila, but she also felt a little extra "spark" that she hadn't felt before... almost like she was already part of the chapter. This feels like home.

Bruce Patman
Last, Regina visited Bruce. These girls are smart, sweet, beautiful, and welcoming, and she would be happy to be a member here, but of the three chapters she felt slightly less at home here than the others.
