Thank you for your prayers and positive energy. The Judge held trial in abeyance because he decided we needed to appoint a Guardian Ad Litem after all. Thanks be to God!

We understand that each person's case is different, but in our minds we keep going back to our 21 year old neighbor who lost his battle to Leukemia back in February.

Please just keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Ok so I've found out more about what D (that's how I'm going to refer to her) has. She has chemo induced Leukemia...very similiar, if not the same thing, of what Robin Roberts on GMA went through recently. They have either already put in her chemo port or it's being put in today and will start chemo very soon. D will also have to have a bone marrow transplant. She will eventually have absolutely no immune system and will have to be kept in isolation at the hospital. If this first try doesn't take (which we are praying it does) they will have to do it all over again. It's a very scary, bad situation currently.

She has her first grandchild on the way and she has to be here for that. Please keep D and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Needing prayers and positive energy for my mom. She had a fall at a Casino about a week ago. They had a doctor check her out and she was fine. Well they were supposed to be on their way from Missouri to our house in Florida-- we are supposed to be leaving for a cruise on 7/29. Well the day after her fall she felt really bad so my dad took her to the hospital--they did an MRI and x-rays that showed nothing so they sent her home with a pulled muscle. They waited a few days and started on their way down here. It was a rough trip, but they got about 3/4 of the way when she felt something snap. They went to the ER and the ball had broken off of her femur. So she's just had partial hip replacement surgery. (No cruise for her, obviously!) She's not doing so well... she's really weak and her blood pressure is low. They gave her a blood transfusion last night, but she's not been able to do much as far as physical therapy. I went up there a few days ago, but my husband and I are still planning on leaving for the cruise. They are going to try to transfer her down here to Melbourne (about 4 hours from where she is now) for her physical therapy. That way my dad won't have to be in a hotel for weeks... but we really need some prayer. I feel horrible about going on the cruise but they are both insistent, and I really need the break.
She's had such a crappy year. My dad had left her earlier this year for another woman that he'd been cheating with for 4 years (he ended up coming back in 3 days). She took him back. She also has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. As in a 17 is considered high on the RA scale, and hers is 400+. That complicates things. :( I'm worried she's just going to have a pity party (not that she isn't entitled) and not get it together mentally for physical therapy. :( :( :(

Sending prayers!

^^^ Sending lots of prayers.

My husband had tooth #18 (not the wisdom tooth, but the tooth next to it that was being damaged by the encroaching wisdom tooth) extracted on Thursday. I drove him to the oral surgeon's office. There was a door between the waiting room and the surgical suite, but I could still clearly hear the drill ... and I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of that drill.

He stayed home from work on Friday, and slept in all weekend (he didn't wake up today until 1:30pm, which is very unlike him). He has hydrocodone for the pain, and he's been taking quite a bit of it. He has not stopped drinking alcohol, even though it's contraindicated with codeine (don't start me).

So he could use some prayers ...

And so could my father. He's still having a lot of trouble dealing with the loss of his wife (they would have celebrated their 48th anniversary this month) and he has his own health problems to work through. He has back problems and has fallen many times - I can't convince him to wear his "I've fallen and I can't get up" pendant, but at least I've convinced him to carry his damn cell phone whenever he goes out.

I know this doesn't seem big, but it's huge to me.
I have my driving test this Friday and really need all the prayers I can get. I'm 23 and need my license already lol

Can I get a prayer for my family? My parents are having a rough time and my mom is at the end of her rope. They've been through a lot, but this is the first time (to my knowledge) that my Catholic mother is talking about divorce. I'm not so worried about the divorce, mainly about my father. He hasn't had the best health and I'm worried what this will do to him. He literally told me today that after 30+ years of marriage that he wouldn't give up and he made it sound like he didn't think my mother would either. I want them happy of course, I'm just worried that this will just about kill my father.

So prayers for the entire family please.

Georgia College Phi Mu needs prayers!

This was posted on my local Alumnae Panhellenic FB webpage.

Sunday...Ladies and prayer warriors we need a miracle! A Beautiful Phi Mu at Georgia College, Julia Tarter, is in a coma from a bad car accident. Please join me in praying for this special young woman and her family. Pray for all those caring for her, her scared family, her shocked friends and Phi Mu Sisters. Pray for a miracle only God can make happen!

Today....Praying for a true miracle. Julia should be coming out of the coma soon and so far the doctors aren't seeing any progress in brain activity. Please pray for the doctors, her family and her Phi Mu sisters at GCSU who are having to continue with pre rush duties while worrying about their sister.

I had a colonoscopy today to see just how bad the Crohn's is. It's not as bad as it was when I was first diagnosed, but I have a pretty narrow stricture so I'll continue to have to avoid all fiber for a while. I'm having a CT scan next week to see how long the narrowed area is so they can determine next steps because they couldn't get past the stricture with the scope.

I know they'll figure out what to do and do what's best and I'll be ok eventually- but I'm struggling with staying strong mentally today. I just really wanted different results.

SWTXBelle 08-15-2013 08:06 PM

So sorry, AGDee - hope you are better soon.

AGDee 08-15-2013 08:54 PM

Thanks. I decided to allow myself a one night pity party- then I'll be strong again tomorrow.

You are more than entitled to your one night of pity. I am sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for but keep the positive attitude about it working out! I believe a positive attitude helps in so many situations.

Two prayer/positive thoughts requests tonight:

My friend whose little boy was given a year max to live didn't even make it to his first birthday. He died this morning. Please keep his parents and their families in your thoughts/prayers.

My dad had a heart attack today, and I'd appreciate prayers for my family. I know that Dad will probably be fine, but it's really upsetting me to not be with my family right now.

aephi alum 09-03-2013 01:18 AM

You are all in my prayers.

My husband is ok now. My father is still grieving, and still won't wear his alert pendant (argh!), but he is working with a physical therapist (the same woman who worked with my mother), and he's walking much more easily. She convinced him to use a cane! *faints*

clarinette 09-04-2013 04:33 PM

I'm so happy, aephi_alum!
