eBay

Hello ladies,

I thought I might tell you about something kinda cool that's up for auction on eBay right now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Great-Antique-Ka...QQcmdZViewItem

It's a framed Kappa Delta Creed. It's an interesting item. I have one that I bought off eBay several years ago. Since then, I've seen only 2 others. I'm curious about it because it's definitely old yet all three have looked identical. My best guess is that it might have been a convention gift at one time.

They're definitely old. The back of mine has a very yellowed and brittle paper cover. I'm just not sure how old. The drawing inside (a print) has a signature and date, Florinda E. Kiester 1926 but that doesn't mean the entire thing is that old. I'm sure HQ could provide an answer.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about it.

Maybe we could use this thread to post anything else that pops up too. ??

AOT,

Leslie Anne

New interesting item on eBay

Aside from the usual tchotchkes on eBay, this week there is a signed and numbered edition of Ordinary Miracles.

With shipping it's about the same price as buying one from HQ, but this one is signed. :)

Ahh, I SO thought this whole thread was new and so I was clicking the items getting excited about them, and then I went and looked and they're all closed. How sad! :( I want a signed Ordinary Miracles and vintage creed. :D

There is a pin for sale right now. I don't know much about this, but it seems wrong to sell a pin, especially if its engraved.

^^^ Darn! I know the guy who bought it. He'll probably try to sell it to me for 5 times what he paid. Arg.

WC, it is really sad to see them on ebay but rest assured that there are KDs (I'm one of them) who keep an eye out and rescue them on a regular basis.

There's a History of Kappa Delta Volume 1 from 1937 on ebay right now.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Kappa-Delta-Soro...d=p3286.c0.m14

It's expensive but it's extremely rare that you'd see one of these for sale.

This book is a must for the total Kappa Delta history nerd! Check it out.

I think this might actually be a set of KD pins:

The photography is really poor!

Yep, it's some KD pins. I'm the one currently bidding on it. What's interesting about the pearled one in particular is that it's a mini.

I have a fairly large collection of Kappa Delta pins and my favorites are the minis. They're about 2/3 the size of your average pin. The ones I have are generally from the mid to late 1920's. I still have a lot to learn about the history of our pins so I'm excited about this one.
