need gift-giving advice

Hello ladies,

I am not a Gamma Phi; I'm an SAI(music sorority). My best friend from childhood who now lives in another state is a Gamma Phi. Her birthday is coming up soon. My question is, would it be inappropriate to give her something Gamma Phi related, like a Gamma Phi shirt, tote bag, etc since I am not a Gamma Phi myself?

Advice, please!

I dont think it would be... When I first pledged Gamma Phi my best friend who's a PiPhi sent me a GPhiB photo album she had made for me... I didn't think it was inappropriate at all! I think its a really cute idea!

I totally agree. I think it's a beatiful sentiment and a wonderful idea.

Not sure how you feel about ebay, but if you look for gamma phi stuff, sometimes they have a really nice glass engraved jewlery box. I'd get it but I'm from Canada and the exchange rate is a killer. But they usually go for 20 dollars or so. Might be worth checking out.

Although, if you have access to a store that sells greek paraphanalia (sp???), then I'm sure they have more fun things there.

Great gift idea! I wish I had friends like you!

I think it's very sweet, and not inappropriate at all...I'm sure your friend will really appreciate that you're showing interest and supporting that she's a part of Gamma Phi :) You're a good friend! Hmm...gift idea...I saw a really cute lamp at Target the other day, it's blue rice paper material and it's shaped like a crescent moon. It's adorable! Something like that might be good, I always like getting stuff to decorate my room.
