Recruitment questions for Minnesota and Ohio State
 

Hello GC friends! I have a daughter deciding between Ohio State and University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. My eldest is a junior at Missouri. I was completely unprepared for recruitment at Mizzou. Luckily she had a good recruitment and is a very happy Theta. Just looking for some tips on recruitment at Ohio State (I know it is deferred) and Minnesota. Are recs required, recommended, or considered strange if they show up? Thanks for the input.

I can only attest for Minnesota. Recs are not required and sometimes they help a PNM through to another round that they may not have otherwise been invited to. I would advise to secure them because some chapters really utilize them. It is difficult to pin point one way or the other. For some chapters there is a heavy legacy component coupled with, "where did you go to high school in the Twin Cities metro?"

Keep in mind that while a campus may not be one where recs are required, some groups require them. My group is on both campuses and we require them so it's best to get them.
