Class Name?
I'm in a rather small local fraternity, and I have a question about classes. A brother and I were having a discussion on what our recently crossed pledge class was called. I said that they were Kappa class, but he insisted that they were Iota. For those who don't know, Iota is the greek letter before Kappa. The thing is, our last pledge class (the Iota) from last semester all dropped out on our last week of pledging. So who is right? Is their pledge class given a letter only when they cross over or when they initially pledge?

Not sure what this has to do with recruitment, but the designation would be up to your fraternity. Each organization names its classes differently. |

Love how the guy comes on here to educate Greeks on the Greek alphabet. What's the last letter in the Greek Alphabet? |

Now we just need MysticCat and ellebud to impress us with their match-alphabet skills. |

Anyway, I agree with it being Kappa Class. If a pledge class STARTS and gets a class name, even if everyone drops, it's still Iota Class, just nobody is in it. If it never started, then the other brother would be correct. In my opinion. We had a slightly similar situation in my home chapter in which both happened. Pledgeline 77 never crossed, but there actually was no Pledgeline 78. Rather than picking up with 78 the following semester, they decided to go with 79. (I think that was the wrong thing, but hey, it's over now) |
