Totally off the wall questions inside!!
 

Hi there!
This is something totally off the wall, but I pledged back in 1988... Something came up and I never actually was initiated into the sorority. Joining this sorority was something I had wanted to do- and have just been wondering...

I am back in Grad school now- an old lady, actually, and was wondering if there was any possibility to join now- Not join as in joining the house or participating in all the activities- but more as an alumni type member...

What are your thoughts on this?

If you were never initiated after pledging, you have no "official" connection or obligation to your sorority, nor they to you. They might give you special consideration as an alumna initiate, depending on the circumstances of your situation back in 1988 and why you were never initiated. All you can do is get in touch with the headquarters and ask. Good luck!

Was the something that came up in any way related to pink sequined legwear? If so, we have some off the wall questions for you.

Are you still in touch with any of the women who were sisters when you were pledging? They would be your first place to start. One of them contacting headquarters in tandem with you would hold more weight than just you, IMO.

Of course if the something that came up is that you were not initiated because of interpersonal issues with many sisters, you need to let this drop.
