Sad News About Arrowmont Crafts School
 

I remember hearing about Pi Beta Phi's national philanthropy supporting the Arrowmont School when I rushed over 20 years ago...

It looks like this historic school is burning as a result of the Gatlinburg fires.

So sad! Prayers out to the school community.

I'm told that only 2 buildings were totaled but still, it's a heartbreaker for us.

As carnation mentioned, two buildings at Arrowmont burned, the rest is safe. Pi Beta Phi Elementary School only suffered minor damage.

This tragedy just keeps getting more heartbreaking by the second. :(

I wrote a couple of posts about Arrowmont and the fire. Hughes Hall of which the Wild Wing and the Scott Wing were a part, burned. The Wild Wing was named for Marianne Reid Wild, a former Grand President. The Scott Wing was named for Jean Scott, a former Grand President and NPC Chairman.
