If you love coasters, try Cedar Point.

DSTCHAOS 03-02-2008 07:48 PM

We were just talking about planning our trip for late Spring/early Summer this evening. :D

I haven't been there since senior class trip '95.

SWTXBelle 03-02-2008 08:14 PM

I miss Disney so . . . :(

Agreed. Disney doesn't even come close.

if you are going during the summer, please get express passes...necause u know it's going to get crowded.

which parks are you thinking about doing?

also...what about your lodgings?

We did a timeshare which really was in the middle of everything and it was great!!!

DSTChaos - over in the honeymoon thread we went off on a Disney tangent you might find interesting.

I just had my first trip to Orlando this past fall. Loved Universal Studios and Dueling Dragons was one (well, two) of the best coasters, I have ever ridden. I left DH on the ground and went by myself, twice.

And, yes, I've heard Cedar Point is amazing. I have yet to go :)

I think you should organize a Cedar Point day for us :) I haven't been there in years (the Mean Streak was new the last time I went!)

what does "out and back" mean?

what is a hyper/gigacoaster? these things sound scary

sherbertlemons 03-03-2008 03:10 PM

hyper coster- coaster over 200 ft. tall
giga coaster- coaster over 300 ft. tall
out and back- A type of coaster layout that goes out in one direction, turns around, and then comes back to the station. The "out" and "back" parts are usually parallel to each other. I'll try to post a picture if I can later. Fairly common on wooden coasters. It's one of the older types of track layouts.
