Wedding Song for AZD Friend

Sorry to barge onto your board - but I need a favor and I was hoping that you might be able to help me.

One of my very best friends is getting married and she's asked me to sing at her wedding. Is there a song that I could sing for her that would remind her of her sorority? She graduated from Bethany (WV) if that helps any.

Please PM if you have any suggestions.

Fraternally,
SnowLady

Hi SnowLady! Welcome to "our side of the board." lol. You can post here anytime!

I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions for you...all of our songs are only sung by sisters, and I've never heard any popular ones that reminded me of my sisters. I don't know if you've gotten any PMs, but I thought I'd respond here.

I've been thinking on this one for awhile and the only song that reminds me of my sisters is "The Rose" by Bette Midler. I know there is an AZD verson but my chapter always sang the other one. Every time I hear it I think about a beatiful garden of pink roses. Another one is "Circle of Friends" by Point of Grace but it's more about friendship than love. I hope this helps a little. :)

And then there's our Alpha Xi Delta Sweetheart song, typically used for candlepassings, which actually would work nicely but wouldn't be meaningful unless your friend's chapter actually sang it. It's an old song, a little difficult but pretty, and not all chapters do sing it anymore. I can send it to you if you need it!

Okay, I don't think I even know that one. PM me w/ details!

I know that song! It was the one that was soo much fun to try and teach sisters to sing - especially if they weren't exactly super excited to learn a new song that was more difficult that Eidelweiss to sing. I remember cracking up during candlelights when the song didn't sound right. So much fun! :)

My chapter is very fond of Lean on Me and we change "brothers" to "sisters"
