Need Advice
There's so much drama with my sorority I'm not sure it's worth it.
We have less then 15 members, and a bunch of us are deactivating this semester. Our numbers are barely enough to fill our EBoard, and Spring recruitment is doubtful because our pledge classes are usually lower than 5. I'm contemplating if it's possible for us to change our name and our ideas without breaking into a new group (because my school is so anti-local it just won't happen). Our alumni already aren't on good terms with us, and I'm just ready to give up. Three semesters of failed PHC recruitment, only to join a sorority that is making me question ever going greek in the first place. What's a girl to do?! |
Call your national office and talk to them.

^She's in a local sorority.
Call your alumnae and say this is do or die time and you really need help. If there are ANY women you are interested in & think they will make a contribution, even if they're seniors, bid them. Forget about offices for a while. Everyone should be helping with everything. |
Update: we have decided to go inactive for the semester, the sorority as a whole is not holding rush and we are just trying to focus on our bonding as sisters. We are also meeting with our school's greek advisors to see what they think should happen as far as our organization staying on campus or going defunct (in which case I would be trying PHC next year again at some point probably).

update
I disaffliated with the sorority shortly before spring semester started in order to consider my school's panhel informal recruitment.

So are you going though recruitment in the fall ?

It's been a trainwreck
As I've updated on my other recruitment threads, greek life is a trainwreck so far. In summary - Fall 2015 lead to me joining one local, disaffiliating before spring 2016. Spring 2016 I was given a bid to the other local sorority on my campus, and then subsequently dropped mid-pledge due to apparently not fitting with them.
I tried forming my own online group, but I don't have the time to put into it after discovering Beta Sigma Phi in March and joining that sorority, as it's international and open through online applications/interest forms. For Fall 2016 I am focusing on chartering/friendly venturing a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at my University. |
