My daughter needs Recommendations and we know no one in Sororities!
I am looking for Alumnae of the following sororities to write a recommendation for my daughter Kaitlynn for rush. You can have been in any one of these chapters on ANY campus. It is due November 30th. We did not know until today! Please if anyone can help!! We have tried family and none have ever been in sorority and we do not have any friends, this is a big reason my daughter is looking to join - for sisterhood!

I doubt that strangers on the Internet are going to want to write a rec for a girl they know nothing of. Ask her teachers--they all went to college.

Have you reached out to your local Panhellenic? What city are you in? Ours will provide you with a spreadsheet of local alumnae for each group. You may be surprised to find out that some people you know actually are Greek. Personal recs are always the best. You may discover connections you never knew existed this way. Best wishes for your daughter’s recruitment.

Yes, it’s better if the writer knows your daughter, but yes, you can still get help! |
Granted you aren't in a hugely populated area but Nicholls St is down the road and they have sororities. And,cher, my screen name should tell you I'm Cajun. Ask her teachers, ask the principal at the HS. Ask people in your church....coaches, your employers. Just because no one in the family was in one doesn't mean a thing. You know someone somewhere. Once you find one person, ask if they know anyone in the other groups. If you know anyone at Nicholls, call them. They'll know people. And should be some in Houma if you know anyone there. I have a cousin in Cocodrie but she's not Greek. Seriously, any adult you know - ask. Even men - their sister or tante may be a connection.

Wait is this FOR Nichols? I know someone there-

Also post on Facebook / social media (your’s and your daughter’s) that you are looking for recommendations to these groups. Someone may know an alumna in one of these sororities. Or ask if they know anyone who’s been in a sorority. Alumnae know other alumnae. Ask her teachers, they all went to college. Even if they weren’t in a sorority they might know someone who is. Ask at church.

We used to fish out of Cocodrie every year! We timed our trips so we could go to Lagniappe on the Bayou, and were so sad when that ended.

She attends Baylor University. We have posted all over facebook to family and friends with no luck at all. She asked her teachers but the few that were in sorority were not in the sororities she needs REC's for. We (where she is from and where we still are) live in Gray, Louisiana but she is currently living in Waco, Texas at Baylor and will be there until graduation, and medical school and beyond lol

Did she ask the ones that were in other groups if they knew anyone in the groups she needs? That's key. I know women who are in groups that weren't on my campus.
The closest alum panhellenics for you are in Lafayette and NOLA...BR has one but it's not any closer. |
Yes, mam, We did get a few chapters as of today but they said they didn't know anyone else. They told her to post on facebook, which we have done, we are trying the best we can! Thanks!
