The CEO of Research in Motion (also know as RIM) which invented the Blackberry, is a Waterloo "almost-grad". He's not our chancellor (figurehead). Yes, a drop out of UW is now the "head" of UW. Great.

Rocco DiSpirito went to Boston U before he hit the CIA.
Our biggest "name" alum was Dr Martin Luther King Jr from the School of Theology. Jason Alexander went to the BU School of Fine Arts - don't think he finished. And in true Panhellenic spirit, one of my heros Ida Martin Shaw was a BU alumna. :D (School of Practical Arts and Letters - was folded into the College of Arts and Sciences) ETA: the creator of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" got his degree from BU's communication school |

Joe Nathan (relief pitcher with the Minnesota Twins, formerly with the San Francisco Giants, we went to SBU around the same time and we never met) Joy Behar (she got her Masters degree from SBU) There may be several others, but I can't think of their names now. I will update as soon as I find out! However I am not sure if these two people attended SBU or not: Dr. Laura (I heard from an episode of Biography that she got her PhD from there) A woman who was Princess Diana's therapist (I read in my Alma Mater's magazine that she got her Masters degree there) |
