Please Pray, and Provide Any Information That You Might Have..

On Thursday, one of my good friends from high school, who I was on a swim team with for 3 years, was hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk, and the driver fled the scene. She was 34 weeks pregnant and she lost the baby upon impact. The police have very little information about the vehicle who struck her and they're looking for any tips that people can provide.

If anyone here is in the Denver area especially, and you have any information, please call Denver Police, or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP.

That's really horrible! My thoughts are with you and your friend. What a terrible loss. Hopefully they will find the perpetrator.

My God. I pray for a recovery and for the driver of the SUV to be brought to justice.

How anyone can hit someone and leave the scene...much less a pregnant woman...I can't imagine. I've got a couple of friends in the area and I'll forward this to them.

I can think of lots of reasons. None of them justified.

Does CO allow homicide charges for unborn children?

From what I've heard/seen from all of my friends talking about this, it appears the answer is no.. but I can't confirm that.

It's so sad because she is THE NICEST person you'll ever meet. That picture of her in the link with her mom, family members and friends all touching her stomach kills me every time I see it :( ...especially knowing that this person might never be caught.

Wow. 34 weeks. I can't imagine recovering from a terrble accident and grieving the loss of your unborn child on top of that.

I also couldn't imagine hitting someone and driving away. I hit squirrels and end up near tears behind it.

That's so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family and for her recovery. :-(

I hope that posts and threads like this will help out tremendously! Such a horrible, sad situation this time of year. You and your friend are in my prayers.

That's a shame that they wouldn't prosecute for her unborn child...at 34 weeks, that baby could survive outside the womb. SMH. Hit and Run is one of the worst vehicular crimes in my opinion...just leave the scene and disregard your responsibility to call for help. It's inhumane.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, and thank you Alumiyum for passing this on to your friends!
