PLEASE HELP @D9 SORORITY MEMBERS

Hi! I am a rising sophomore, and I joined this forum because I have some questions about Greek life. For a long time (I believe because of my family’s history), I wanted to be a part of one org. However, after going to two of their public events (including their Founder’s Day celebration) and reflecting on their values and members versus another org, I found that I actually feel compelled to join another. I am afraid to show interest in this new organization, in case they felt that I was “switching.” Is this considered switching? I really just finished my first-year and just did some reflections and found my true #1. Is there a way to explain this if it comes up? How do I show the utmost interest now?

I would appreciate any advice!
Thank you all!

Hi, welcome.

The best, and most likely the only advice you will receive is the following:

Read, research, and research some more on the org(s) which interest you. Find members of the org(s) within your personal network whom you can trust, and be open and honest with regarding your interest and concerns. Connect with the members on your campus, and work to build genuine relationships, as opposed to just talking to them because you want to be an XYZ.

Those steps should help to clarify, for you, which org is the best fit. Members of the organization you select will be able to educate you about what your next steps should be, after that.

Best of luck!

P.S.: No need to make multiple posts on the same topic. We see you ;-)
