A 21-year-old sorority sister at the University of Mississippi was found dead near a lake over the weekend — and foul play is suspected, authorities said.

The body of Alexandria “Ally” Kostial was discovered Saturday morning during a routine patrol in Harmontown, about 20 miles from the Ole Miss campus in Oxford, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

“It is apparent that foul play was involved,” a Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said.

Her father, Keith Kostial, said she was taking summer courses and teaching fitness classes at the time of her death.

“We were visited by the Sunset Hills MO Police who communicated to us that our beautiful dear Alexandria (Ally) Kostial was the victim of a homicide,” her father wrote Sunday on Facebook. “As of now, it is believed the crime happened in Lafayette County, MS.”

Absolutely horrific. My prayers and love to her family, friends, alpha phi sisters and the Ole Miss community.

Hold your loved ones closer tonight...

Thank goodness, an arrest has been made. Another Ole Miss student has been charged in Ally Kostial's murder. I hope justice is swift and correct.

Brandon Theesfeld officially charged Tuesday morning with the murder of Ole Miss student Alexandria “Ally” Kostial

He has already been expelled from Ole Miss.

I just came here to post the same.

This article also has a statement from Alpha Phi. It does annoy me, however, that they said she was a 'former' member: https://abcnews.go.com/US/suspect-cu...ll_twopack_hed

Here is the statement:

"The Alpha Phi community is grieving the loss of Ally Kostial, and we send our deepest sympathies to her family during this incredibly difficult time. We hope that the Alpha Phi sisters who knew Ally best can find peace and comfort as they reflect on the lasting impact she made on the lives of her family members and friends."

(It was a friend of hers from high school and college that mentioned "former" member, so probably not familiar with sorority terms)

I just read that the suspect has a sister that is a member of Alpha Phi at Ole Miss. Praying for all.

Here's an article with some more information.

I can't imagine what they're all going through right now.

As if this young woman's death wasn't already tragic, these conditions make it even more so, totally brutal. Seriously cannot imagine the family's grief and pain. Prayers and thoughts to them.

I'm glad they caught the suspect; but, to learn he was the brother of Miss Kostial's sorority sister is just awful. :(

This makes it all the more horrific. I feel for this murderer's sister, too. There is no way that she can come back to campus, certainly not to APhi.

The quote from a close friend is so frightening: "One of Kostial’s close friends wrote on Twitter, “He harassed her for years, took advantage of her for years, I spent countless nights holding Ally close drying her tears about this monster for years. You deserve hell you disgusting excuse for a human. #JusticeForAlly You will never diminish her sunshine.”

I'm confused. Why is there no way she can go back to campus or APhi? Unless she was in on this or is defending her brother, why would she have to abandon everything she knows and loves?

Not speaking for Thetalady at all but, I think the absolute scrutiny and talking about her would make life really difficult.

While she did not commit a crime nor is she accused of anything, unfortunately in society people are still victims of guilt by association.

What a tragic situation and my condolences to her family, friends and Alpha Phi sisters.

Perhaps. But saying she absolutely cannot return to her school or sorority is extreme. Will she? Maybe.. maybe not. That's up to her.
