Kappa Bid Day Shirt and Skit Ideas

Hey guys

I am membership chair for my chapter this year and I am looking for some good ideas for bid day shirts and skits for skit night. I like some of the catty shirts, although panhel is kind of restrictive on what we can have. Also our chapter desperately needs a new skit. Ours is outdated and totally lame. I've been looking in some of the older threads concerning these topics, but most of what I have found so far seems outdated, to say the least. Anyway, if you think you might be able to help me out, let me know! I need all the help I can get!!!

Thanks :)

A long time ago I saw a shirt with a photo-like picture of our badge right were it would be if you were actually wearing it. I thought that was a really cute idea because it was so simple&classy and you could actually wear it beyond college. As far as skits go-I would check with other chapters and ask for copies of their current best. I'd rather every chapter of kappa do the exact same skit and it be award-winning-good than to have 100 original-but-blah skits out there. Maybe make some direct calls to some chapters and see what happens...

Wow! What a cute idea! I wish the Key Source sold that- I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

As for skits, I'm no help. My campus had a Video Day instead of doing skits.

That does sound really cute, even to an old fogie like myself!

I also like what Kappa2 said about HQ designing several skits to be used by all the chapters rather than each chapter developing their own. If HQ wrote a couple of different scripts, the chapters could choose the one that would best fit in with the culture of the school. Back in the days of the dinosaur, I remember reading in the Key about the Kappa Pickers (a singing ensemble that had a country look with plaid shirts, jean shorts and braided hair). I don't remember if they performed at rushes. A lot of chapters had Kappa Pickers but not mine. It wouldn't have worked at my school but was clearly the perfect choice for other schools.

In terms of the originality of a standardized script, it would be original to most rushees as I can't imagine transfers from school to school are a huge percentage of recruitment.

One of those "key" shirts is up on eBay right now. I wish I were a size small!

One of the best bid day shirts we had was one that was very simple (no graphics or anything). It simply said...

On the front: Imsohappythatiama
On the back: Kappakappagamma!

USD KKG Bid Day 2007 T-Shirts

our most recent bid day shirt was adorable; the backs said:

"take me down to the kkg city
where the grass is green and the girls are pretty"

with an oval-shaped image of a beach and palm trees

and the fronts just said
"kappa kappa gamma
USD
bid day 2007"

the color was really fun, too.
