North Texas rush

Hello all! I am going to be a sophomore transfer student to the University of North Texas and was hoping for some advice and insight on what to expect? Am I going to suffer due to being a transfer? Thanks!

My cousin went through UNT as a sophomore transfer (this was about 4 years ago) and had a successful recruitment. Granted, I did not say PERFECT recruitment. Some days she had choices, other days she didn't have a full schedule. She had 2 parties for Pref, got an invite to her favorite, but she said she would have been happy as a member of the other chapter. She had a wonderful 3 years in her sorority and she truly found the sisterhood she was meant for. About 20 of her sisters were at her wedding last week.

The sororities at UNT are strong and the Greek system is growing. Get your recs and Recruitment Resume in order!

Help!

Thanks so much for the advice! Not sure if your cousin is on this site, but I would love to hear her advice on what to wear and expect etc.. Not to much insight too many places about UNTs greek system!

I am an alum of UNT. But as you can see from my moniker here, it was a looooong time ago!

Do be sure to get your recs in order. Some of the nationals of the UNT sororities DO require recommendations. Back in the day recs were in before rush started. NO late night calls during rush trying to get one for a PNM we were interested in! Don't know what is the protocol today. But you don't want to stress about recs when rush is underway.

The UNT Panhellenic website and Facebook page have good guidelines for what to wear and expect. I believe they even have a few YouTube videos for recruitment prep.

I'm a slightly more recent alum that the above poster, but it's still been awhile. From the women I know that have recently graduated it's still definitely a great idea to get recommendations and to submit your registration on ICS as early as you can.
