Can I still be friends with non Greek people?
I am new to this. My parents have never been in a fraternity or sorority so I don't know what real Greek life is like. I only watched Animal House. I don't think it is really like that. So would it be hard to befriend everyone in college?

Yes, you can and should be friends with people who aren't Greek.

Watch Legally Blond to see how sisters support each other and have other friends.

You can be friends with non-Greek people. You can be friends with people in other Greek organizations. You might not be friends with all of your brothers or sisters. No one is better or worse or less or more worthy of friendship because of a specific Greek or other group affiliation or lack of one, and no one’s doing anyone else a favor by being friends with them. Football players can be friends with basketball players. Chemistry majors can be friends with business majors. Likewise, Greeks can be friends with whomever they choose.

Fraternities are "social clubs." They should teach you how to be social, not how to withdraw from everyone who doesn't join.
Make friends as often as you'd like. |
