Hi, I'm the incoming president for the local sorority at the University of Northern British Columbia. We are Alpha Pi Beta and this year we are really working on really working on redefining and redeveloping our identity and place at the campus, especially as we are the only sorority.

As a non Canadian, how big is Greek life in Canadian colleges? Is it like the US, does it depend on the school?

Yep, it definitely depends on where you are! I would say U of T and UBC are definitely the biggest systems, and they are still tiny compared to a lot of the states. My undergrad university had 20,000+ students and the greek community was 200 people at most. Most Canadians universities administrations don't actually know about or pay attention to Greek groups (unless something goes wrong :( ). It makes recruitment difficult sometimes, but in some ways it's nice, too. There seems to be less pressure.

Do all NPCs currently have active chapters? I see a research project in my future. ....

No, there are only a handful of international NPCs.

Any founders here still active on this forum? I'm looking into starting a sorority on a campus where Greek life is still very new. I would love to hear some of your experiences!
